Job Description

About 9fin

9fin is the AI platform powering global debt markets — the world’s largest asset class at over $145 trillion.

Debt markets are vast, global, and mission-critical, yet still run on fragmented data, PDFs, and manual workflows. 9fin replaces this broken infrastructure with a single platform that centralises proprietary credit data, deep analysis, and high-value workflows across global markets.

Today, 9fin powers teams at 300+ blue-chip institutions worldwide, including global banks, asset managers, private equity firms, law firms, and advisors. The business is scaling at exceptional speed, with rapid expansion in the US and best-in-class retention driven by deep workflow adoption.

We’re at a defining inflection point. With proven product-market fit and strong, global market pull, 9fin is accelerating toward becoming the category-defining platform for debt markets worldwide.

The opportunity

We are looking for a highly-motivated and driven platform engineer, with experience in enabling a DevOps culture within tech teams. In this role, your primary responsibility will be to provide a world-class developer experience to other engineers. You will have the autonomy to build solutions for the fascinating problems that we have to solve, allowing our customers (the software engineers) to build products quickly, securely, and to a high standard of quality.

Every day is different, but here’s an example of the kind of things you’ll work on:

  • Implementing AWS multi-account core infrastructure, and ensuring security best practices are being used across the cloud estate.

  • Authoring CI/CD templates and optimisations to ensure that engineers can release as early and often as possible.

  • Designing and implementing a developer portal, to provide a service catalog to the engineering team, and also author many other useful DevOps plugins.

  • Contributing to observability best practices and providing key SLI/SLO metric reporting, so that the engineering team can balance velocity and reliability.

  • Develop inner/open source projects to help provide a world-class developer experience to the engineering team.

About You

This role will be a great fit if you have:

  • Good working knowledge of AWS services including ECS, EC2, Lambda, VPC, IAM, Route53, CloudFront, S3, RDS

  • Good understanding of monitoring and logging solutions. We use OpenTelemetry, AWS Cloudwatch and SigNoz so experience with them is a bonus.

  • Proven ability to provide and support strong and scalable CI/CD pipelines

  • Linux, Git, Docker and good scripting skills in e.g. Python, bash, Go. You should be proficient in at least one modern programming language.

  • Good experience in defining Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.

  • Knowledgeable and comfortable with Agile development practices

  • Great appetite for learning and self-improvement

  • A real passion for developer experience, as well as an understanding and enthusiasm for Platform Engineering as a discipline

  • Previous experience in fintech is a bonus
