Your Role and Responsibilities

As an HSE Specialist, you play a crucial role in creating and maintaining a safe, healthy, and sustainable working environment at our Ede site. You are a trusted advisor, coach, and sparring partner for colleagues at all levels of the organization, helping to strengthen our health, safety, and environmental culture on a daily basis.

You combine strategic insight with a hands-on approach. One moment, you are working on compliance matters, reporting, or audits; the next, you are out on the shop floor supporting colleagues in working safely and improving processes. Through your expertise and persuasive communication skills, you increase awareness and drive sustainable improvements in health, safety, and environmental performance.

In this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Driving behavioral change and increasing awareness around health, safety, and environmental topics.
  • Ensuring compliance with legislation, regulations, policies, procedures, and certification requirements.
  • Implementing new legislation, internal directives, and HSE initiatives.
  • Coordinating and supporting internal and external audits, inspections, and compliance reviews.
  • Developing, maintaining, and improving HSE procedures, work instructions, and reporting.
  • Investigating incidents and initiating corrective and preventive actions.
  • Ensuring the availability of appropriate safety equipment, tools, and personal protective equipment.
  • Supporting HSE activities within both the manufacturing environment and commercial departments, including Sales.
  • Collaborating with national and international stakeholders to further strengthen ABB's HSE culture.
  • Initiating and supporting sustainability and circularity projects.

Your Team

You will join an engaged and collaborative organization where ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement are highly valued. Every workday starts with a stand-up meeting, ensuring everyone understands the priorities and how we can achieve our goals together.

The Ede site is characterized by an open and entrepreneurial culture where initiative is valued and employees are given the freedom to make an impact. In this role, you will work closely with colleagues from production, sales, management, and site leadership. As a result, you will have a visible presence throughout the organization and a direct influence on how health, safety, and environmental practices are embedded in daily operations.
