Job Description

Provides direct support to an assigned area. Applies relevant principles to support projects and ongoing activities. Completes tasks which support a project or functional team.

Responsibilities

  •  Design and develop end-to-end Power BI dashboards and semantic models that translate complex operational data into actionable insights for leadership and operations teams; create PBIP projects with advanced features including calculated tables, relationships, DAX measures, and data validation logic.
  • Conduct requirements gathering and translate business needs into functional and technical specifications, working directly with stakeholders to document scope, success criteria, and edge cases; document design decisions and architectural patterns for model maintainability.
  • Develop KPIs and performance metrics that drive operational visibility and decision-making.
  • Build and maintain semantic data models that integrate data from multiple sources (Redshift, ODBC connections, enterprise systems).
  • Write and optimize complex SQL (Redshift-compatible) to extract, transform, and stage data for analytics.
  • Create and document design specifications and requirement documents that serve as source-of-truth for dashboard actionable insights for leadership and operations teams.
  • Conduct requirements gathering and translate business needs into functional and technical specifications, working directly with stakeholders to document scope, success criteria, and edge cases; document design decisions and architectural patterns for model maintainability. 
  • Perform requirement validation and UAT coordination — gather stakeholder feedback on prototypes, incorporate design iterations, and validate that delivered dashboards meet acceptance criteria.
  • Support dashboard deployment and user enablement — publish to production environments, troubleshoot connectivity issues, and provide training and documentation to end users.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree plus 5 years technical experience, or Masters degree plus 4 years experience. Will consider 9 years work experience in related technical roles.
  • Experience in DAX (defining measures, calculated columns, filters, context transitions) and Power Query (M language) for data transformation
  • Experience with SQL — ability to write complex queries with joins, CTEs, aggregations, and date-based filtering
  • Demonstrated ability to translate business requirements into technical specifications and design data models that support reporting and analytics
  • Experience documenting technical designs, KPI definitions, and data architecture for both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to validate data accuracy and reconcile reporting against source systems
  • Ability to work collaboratively with business stakeholders, IT teams, and end users to gather requirements and communicate trade-offs

 

  Additional Nice-to-have:

  • Knowledge of dimensional modeling (fact and dimension tables, data granularity)
  • Experience building dashboards for operations, supply chain, inventory management, or procurement domains.
  • Experience in enterprise ERP systems (Maximo, SAP, Oracle) and their data structures.
