ROLE OVERVIEW AND PURPOSE
This role is responsible for ensuring the safe, reliable, and compliant delivery of mechanical maintenance activities, with a particular focus on safety-critical smoke ventilation assets. The postholder leads the planning and execution of maintenance works to programme, ensures compliance with statutory inspection and testing requirements, and manages asset risks and defects to support safe and continuous operations.
The role also provides effective supervision of mechanical team members and contractors, helping to maintain high standards of safety, performance, and technical delivery across all maintenance activities.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Safety Leadership
- Promote and maintain a positive safety culture at all times.
- Ensure all works are carried out in accordance with Safe Systems of Work, Permits to Work, Risk Assessments, and Method Statements.
- Conduct site safety inspections, toolbox talks, and safety briefings.
- Ensure compliance with Health & Safety at Work Act, CDM Regula
