Transformation

As business models and transactions become more complex, CFOs are increasingly expected to provide strategic insight, improve performance, and create enterprise value—not simply report historical results.

Accordion’s Transformation Practice helps portfolio companies strengthen finance strategy, operating models, processes, technology, controls, and performance management. Our team provides practical, execution-oriented support across profitability improvement, finance process optimization, liquidity enhancement, digital transformation, and transaction-related initiatives.

The Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) team brings this approach to healthcare provider and physician enterprise clients. We help clients improve cash flow, accelerate collections, strengthen operational discipline, optimize technology, and build sustainable revenue-cycle capabilities. Our work may include supporting private equity-backed healthcare organizations, but the core focus is improving provider-side revenue-cycle performance and outcomes.

This role can be based in any of our US office locations and is a hybrid role with the flexibility to work remotely 2 days a week. Ideal candidates should be local to the desired location.

This position is not eligible for immigration sponsorship.

Role Summary:

The Vice President, Finance Transformation (Revenue Cycle Management) will lead client engagements focused on improving revenue-cycle performance for healthcare providers, physician enterprises, and other healthcare organizations. This role combines deep RCM expertise with the ability to advise senior executives, manage complex workstreams, develop high-quality deliverables, and translate recommendations into measurable results.

The successful candidate will be comfortable operating at both the strategic and tactical levels—framing the performance-improvement opportunity, diagnosing root causes, designing practical solutions, and working alongside client teams to implement change across revenue cycle and finance operations.

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead RCM assessments, performance-improvement initiatives, and transformation programs for healthcare provider and physician enterprise clients.
  • Evaluate and improve end-to-end revenue-cycle operations, including patient access, registration, authorization, charge capture, coding, billing, payment posting, accounts receivable, denial management, underpayment review, utilization review, and business office operations.
  • Assess revenue-cycle maturity, organization design, staffing models, governance, workflows, controls, and performance-management practices.
  • Develop target operating models, process improvements, implementation roadmaps, and practical recommendations that improve collections, reduce leakage, shorten cash-conversion timelines, and strengthen the patient and provider experience.
  • Analyze reimbursement activity, payer performance, payment-model mix, denials, underpayments, aging, and other revenue-cycle data to identify root causes and quantify opportunities.
  • Evaluate and optimize RCM technology, including EHR/EMR platforms, clearinghouses, patient-access tools, billing systems, analytics solutions, and other tech-enabled RCM products and vendors.
  • Support technology selection, implementation planning, process redesign, and change-management activities.
  • Support RCM-focused M&A work, including commercial and operational due diligence, transaction support, synergy assessment, and post-merger integration.
  • Develop KPI dashboards, reporting tools, management routines, and other mechanisms to track performance and sustain improvements.
  • Manage multiple client engagements and complex workstreams, keeping projects on track, managing client and sponsor expectations, and making course corrections when necessary.
  • Build trusted relationships with C-suite executives, CFOs, healthcare operators, physician leaders, private equity sponsors, and other key stakeholders.
  • Lead and develop project teams, provide coaching and mentorship, and contribute to a collaborative, high-performing culture.
  • Support Accordion’s growth by identifying opportunities, contributing to proposals, developing intellectual capital, and helping expand client relationships.
  • Travel to client sites as needed, based on project requirements.

You Have:

  • Seven or more years of experience working in healthcare operating or revenue-cycle roles within provider or physician enterprises, or in a client-serving role at a top-tier consulting or financial advisory firm; a combination of client-service and industry experience is welcome.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and delivering RCM-focused operational, financial, and transformation solutions to healthcare clients.
  • Broad, hands-on experience across the revenue cycle, with a strong understanding of reimbursement performance, payer dynamics, and payment-model economics.
  • Experience with one or more of the following areas: patient access, billing and accounts receivable management, utilization review, denial management, underpayment review, accounts receivable strategy, business office operations, coding, charge capture, or payment posting.
  • Experience optimizing revenue across fee-for-service, bundled-payment, capitation, value-based care, and other payment models.
  • Strong working knowledge of RCM technology, including EHR/EMR systems such as Epic and Cerner, clearinghouse platforms, and other tech-enabled RCM solutions.
  • Experience providing RCM-focused M&A solutions, including due diligence, transaction support, and post-merger integration, is beneficial.
  • Experience working with private equity sponsors or their portfolio companies is preferred, with an understanding of the unique requirements of the private equity environment.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders simultaneously while maintaining high-quality work product and client service.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; a master’s degree in business, healthcare administration, finance, or a related field is preferred.
  • Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills.
  • Strong written, verbal, analytical, and presentation skills.
  • A highly responsive, practical, and client-service-oriented approach.

You Are:

  • Excited to help grow a specialized, high-impact RCM practice serving healthcare organizations.
  • Passionate about delivering exceptional client service and measurable outcomes.
  • Comfortable advising senior leaders while remaining willing to work through the details required to execute.
  • Able to see the full picture while owning specific workstreams and deliverables.
  • Comfortable managing multiple complex workstreams in a fast-moving environment.
  • A self-starter with strong judgment, high standards, and an entrepreneurial mindset.
  • Able to communicate complex issues and solutions clearly and raise risks early.
  • A team player who collaborates effectively across levels, practices, and functions.
  • A leader who develops others and leads by example.

The annual salary for this role ranges from: $145,000 to $200,000 USD + benefits + bonus. Actual compensation packages are determined by evaluating a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to geographic location, skill set, years and depth of experience, education, certifications, cost of labor and internal equity.
