Job Description
Key Responsibilities
Project Management
- Lead and manage all Maintenance of Way activities, including track, turnouts, ballast, drainage systems, and trackside assets.
- Develop and implement maintenance strategies, work schedules, and project execution plans.
- Ensure maintenance works are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
- Monitor project performance through KPIs and provide regular progress reports to senior management and clients.
- Identify and mitigate project risks and operational challenges.
Operations & Maintenance
- Oversee preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance activities.
- Ensure track inspections are conducted in accordance with maintenance standards and regulatory requirements.
- Review asset condition data and implement improvement initiatives to enhance asset reliability and lifecycle performance.
- Coordinate track possessions and access arrangements with railway operations teams.
Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)
- Promote a strong safety culture across all maintenance activities.
- Ensure compliance with railway safety standards, company procedures, and client requirements.
- Lead incident investigations and implement corrective actions.
- Conduct safety audits, toolbox talks, and risk assessments.
Stakeholder Management
- Act as the primary interface with clients, consultants, regulators, and subcontractors.
- Attend project review meetings and provide technical and operational updates.
- Manage client expectations and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
Financial & Commercial Management
- Manage project budgets, forecasts, and cost control measures.
- Review and approve subcontractor performance and invoices.
- Identify opportunities for operational efficiencies and cost reduction.
- Support contract administration and change management processes.
Team Leadership
- Lead multidisciplinary maintenance teams, supervisors, engineers, and planners.
- Develop workforce plans and training requirements.
- Conduct performance evaluations and mentor team members.
- Foster collaboration and continuous improvement within the team.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Railway Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Master's Degree or PMP certification is preferred.
- Professional railway certifications are advantageous.
