Service Engineer – Propulsion (Europe)

Location: Europe (Based in or near our hubs in The Netherlands, Greece, Turkey, or Estonia; candidates residing in Belgium will be contracted/employed via our Netherlands office)

Reports to: Service Manager / Team Lead Propulsion

In short

As a Service Engineer – Propulsion, you are the face of AEGIR-Marine at the service location across Europe and worldwide. The way you communicate, act, and collaborate with the customer directly shapes how AEGIR-Marine is perceived. You are the trusted expert for our customers when it comes to the mechanical part of propulsion systems. You don’t only service propulsion systems—you analyze technical issues, provide effective solutions, and ensure the high level of quality AEGIR-Marine stands for, wherever it is needed.

Your Responsibilities

As a Propulsion Engineer, you focus on servicing, analyzing, supporting, and improving the mechanical parts of propulsion systems, both remotely and on site:

  • Technical Support & Service: Provide high-quality service and technical support on the mechanical parts of propulsion systems, either independently or in collaboration with team members.

  • Problem-Solving & Analysis: Analyze complex technical issues and translate them into practical, reliable solutions.

  • Global Mobilization: Travel to shipyards and vessels worldwide to execute hands-on on-site service.

  • Broad Mechanical Scope: Work with a wide range of propulsion systems, including controllable pitch propellers (CPP), thrusters, seals, and bearings.

  • Technical Reporting: Prepare clear technical reports and advise customers on maintenance, repair, and optimization.

About You

  • Core Expertise: Hands-on experience with servicing propulsion systems, specifically thrusters and CPP systems.

  • Location & Employment Setup: Based in Europe. Candidates residing in The Netherlands, Greece, Turkey, or Estonia will join their respective regional hubs. Candidates residing in Belgium are fully welcome to apply and will be employed through our Dutch entity.

  • Analytical Mindset: Strong analytical skills and a structured approach to technical problem-solving.

  • Working Style: Comfortable working both independently on-site and collaboratively within a team.

  • Language & Mobility: Good command of English, both spoken and written, a valid car driving license, and full willingness to travel abroad.
