The Propulsion Control System (PCS) is a complex and critical system for the aircraft. It is composed of several electronic computers in charge of controlling and monitoring engines, Thrust reverser and interfaced with several other aircraft systems.
Our team is responsible for integrating the Propulsion Control System to the aircraft. Our mission is to develop the functions that will ensure a safe and efficient integration between the aircraft systems, the pilots, the propulsion systems, according to the needs of each of them.
We actively contribute to the support of our in-service aircraft, to the incremental development of our product family and to the preparation of new technologies introduction (hydrogen fuel, electrical propulsion, automation, new cockpit generation, ..).
Description of the job
The Propulsion Control System (PCS) Integration team for the Single Aisle project, is facing interesting challenges with multiple software developments in progress for 5 different engines, the preparation of the entry into service of the new project, as well as future preparation with the New Avionics project, introduction of new functions and ensuring continuous airworthiness and daily in service and delivery support.
As part of this team, in collaboration with an important diversity of actors, your main accountabilities will include:
Participating to the definition of PCS architecture and PCS-Aircraft interfaces,
Participating to the design of the engine controller interfaces and functions modifications in collaboration with the Engine Manufacturer,
Co-designing evolutions of other Aircraft systems interfaced with PCS,
Ensuring full Validation & Verification cycle in validating the requirements and specifying the PCS system verification (for test benches and flight tests) and analyzing the test outcomes,
Ensuring Modifications certification,
Supporting in service fleet with Airbus Customer Support, Design Office and engine manufacturer,
Supporting deliveries with production and deliveries teams
You will interact with a large community of international stakeholders, inside Airbus (Chief Engineers, experts, flight test, production, customer support,…) and also with external industrial partners such as Engine manufacturer.
Travels to visit CFM Mexico or P&W USA have to be anticipated.
Required skills
You like working on technical subjects, you want to be part of a great adventure within a very competent, collaborating, diverse and welcoming team inside the Design Office of Airbus (Commercial Aircraft).
You have the following skills and experience:
Educated in Engineering or a related discipline,
Good communication and teamwork mindset
Technical knowledge of System Engineering or Aeronautical Propulsion is a plus
Language skills: Negotiation level of English
