Team Overview
The Blackstone Program Director for Educational Operations is a dynamic leader responsible for helping the VP of Philosophy and Education plan and run the Blackstone Legal Fellowship’s flagship educational event, the summer program, as well as its alumni educational offerings. The role is integral to planning and executing on our educational events, and to ensuring that each interaction with the summer program and alumni educational offerings—whether for interns, Blackstone Fellows, ministry friends, faculty, or special guests—is impactful, memorable, and aligned with our mission.
Key Responsibilities
Program Planning & Execution:
- Direct and strategically plan program-wide logistics, including venue selection, event- and project-planning timelines, program agendas, technology requirements, communications with faculty, interns, and Fellows, and on-site event management, ensuring each event runs smoothly and exceeds expectations.
- Monitor and evaluate the success of the program, using feedback and data to continuously improve the quality and impact of the program.
- Monitor weekly and monthly budget reports.
Team Leadership & Collaboration:
- Oversee the Program Coordinator, providing direction and mentorship.
- Work closely with Blackstone Team members, internal teams (Events, Development, Creative, etc.), and vendors to deliver high-quality, well-run program events.
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Foster strong relationships with key stakeholders, ensuring their experience at events is positive and reinforces their commitment to the program.
- Craft clear, concise, and compelling messaging for various audiences.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in education, business, management, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in program management, program leadership, or a related role, with a proven track record of leading large-scale projects and educational programs.
- Prior experience leading a team, with strong skills in team development.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with diverse audiences and inspire others.
- Strong organizational and program management skills, with the ability to manage multiple events and priorities simultaneously.
- Ability to travel as needed and manage events during evenings or weekends, as required by the program schedule.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working within a nonprofit or educational setting is highly desirable, particularly in roles involving stakeholder engagement.
- A deep understanding of the mission and values of the Blackstone Legal Fellowship and a passion for creating transformative experiences.
