BIM Modeler/Detailer

We are seeking an experienced BIM Modeler / Electrical Detailer to support commercial electrical construction projects through BIM modeling, detailing, coordination, and installation planning.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience modeling commercial electrical systems for construction and strong proficiency with Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD, and Navisworks. This position will work closely with Project Managers, Engineers, Estimators, Superintendents, and field teams to develop accurate construction models, resolve coordination conflicts, improve constructability, and support prefabrication and installation.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain detailed BIM models for commercial electrical construction projects.
• Create electrical shop drawings, coordination drawings, installation layouts, and prefabrication packages.
• Model conduit, cable tray, electrical equipment, supports, sleeves, and other electrical systems.
• Perform clash detection and coordinate electrical systems with mechanical, plumbing, structural, fire protection, and architectural trades.
• Review drawings, specifications, and contract documents for accuracy, constructability, and coordination requirements.
• Participate in BIM/VDC coordination meetings and incorporate RFIs, design changes, and field updates into project models.
• Collaborate with Project Managers, Estimators, Engineers, Superintendents, foremen, and other project stakeholders.
• Produce accurate, field-ready drawings for installation, fabrication, and prefabrication.
• Maintain BIM models throughout construction and assist with as-built documentation.
• Identify coordination conflicts early and develop practical solutions to improve installation efficiency.
• Provide BIM and drawing support to field teams throughout installation.
• Ensure all BIM deliverables meet project requirements, company standards, and quality expectations.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience as a BIM Modeler, Electrical Detailer, VDC Designer, or similar role.
• Commercial electrical construction experience is required.
• Proven experience developing BIM models for commercial electrical installations.
• Strong proficiency with Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD, and Navisworks.
• Strong understanding of commercial electrical systems, including conduit routing, cable tray, equipment layouts, supports, and installation methods.
• Experience with BIM/VDC coordination, clash detection, and multidisciplinary coordination.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, specifications, and construction documents.
• Strong understanding of constructability and real-world field installation requirements.
• Ability to translate design documents into accurate, practical, installation-ready models.
• Excellent attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and quality.
• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Associate degree, technical certification, or equivalent experience in BIM, drafting, electrical design, or a related field preferred.
