Job Description
We’re seeking a Senior Tekla Detailer to oversee structural steel modeling, detailing, and drawing production for fabrication and field erection. This role combines advanced Tekla Structures expertise with technical leadership, quality assurance, and process improvement to ensure steel components are accurately detailed and ready for production and installation.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct 3D steel modeling and detailing from initial design coordination through shop fabrication and on-site erection.
- Generate detailed shop drawings, erection layouts, material lists, and fabrication packages that meet project requirements.
- Translate engineering plans, architectural drawings, and technical specifications into accurate, buildable steel models.
- Identify design conflicts, incomplete information, dimensional discrepancies, and fabrication or installation risks before production.
- Establish and refine Tekla modeling standards, templates, custom components, and detailing procedures.
- Audit models and drawings for accuracy, completeness, constructability, and compliance with project specifications.
- Coordinate design details with structural engineers, fabricators, production personnel, project managers, general contractors, and erection crews.
- Troubleshoot steel connection details, drawing revisions, modeling conflicts, and field installation issues.
- Coach junior detailers
