Student Success Advisor
Overview
This position aims to enhance the retention and success of returning students at AUBH and mitigate the risk of student attrition due to low academic performance. The job holder is primarily responsible for monitoring, tracking, and supporting students who are at risk academically, with the aim of identifying concerns early, providing appropriate guidance and interventions, and connecting students with relevant University support services. The position holder may also provide support with student counselling-related matters and the processing of student grievances and appeals, as required.
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Advise and support students at risk in relation to course selection, registration, academic workload, and progression requirements.
2. Monitor the attendance of students at risk and proactively follow up with students who demonstrate concerning attendance patterns or are missing classes.
3. Monitor the academic performance and engagement of students at risk throughout the semester and proactively follow up to provide guidance, encouragement, and appropriate support.
4. Identify students who may require additional academic, personal, or wellbeing support and coordinate referrals to academic advisors, the University Counselor, or other relevant University support services, as appropriate.
