Linear & Pivot Systems Technician - Farm

Apt Resources is seeking a skilled Linear & Pivot Systems Technician to join our client's Farm. In this role, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining center pivot and linear pivot irrigation systems. Key responsibilities include ensuring the efficient functioning of irrigation equipment, performing regular inspections and maintenance, troubleshooting technical problems, and carrying out necessary repairs. Additionally, the technician will monitor water usage and irrigation schedules to optimize crop yields while conserving resources.

Responsibilities

• Operate and supervise the performance of pivot and linear irrigation systems.
• Perform regular inspections of irrigation equipment to detect and address potential issues.
• Carry out preventive maintenance tasks, including lubrication, cleaning, and part replacements.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with irrigation systems, including both electrical and mechanical components, such as tower/span alignment, guidance alignment, and communication between the control boxes of the machine and pump for linear or center pivot machines. This also includes working with tower and motor electrical boxes, collector rings, manual panel configurations, and using tools like multimeters and pentameters.
• Repair or replace faulty parts and components, ensuring proper system functionality. This may involve tasks such as adjusting U-joints, U pipes, and drop hoses, recognizing
