People Generalist

About the Role
The People Generalist is a trusted partner to employees and managers across the employee lifecycle. You will build and improve the processes and policies that keep the People Team running well, own the off-boarding process, and provide hands-on support in areas like employee relations, performance, and compliance. This role is a good fit for someone who enjoys variety, balances empathy with sound judgment, and likes making processes better.
What You’ll Do
- Develop, document, and continuously improve People Team processes, policies, and procedures, and help communicate changes to employees and managers
- Manage the off-boarding process end to end, including coordinating with IT, Facilities, Payroll, and managers, and ensuring timely and compliant separations
- Conduct exit interviews, analyze themes in the feedback, and share insights and recommendations with People Team leadership
- Serve as a point of contact for employees and managers on HR policies, performance, career development, and workplace concerns
- Support employee relations matters, including intake, documentation, and investigation support, in partnership with the People Team lead and Legal as appropriate
- Support the performance review, compensation review, and promotion cycles
- Help ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, and support audits and policy updates
- Contribute to People Team projects and escalate sensitive matters appropriately
What You’ll Bring
- 3–5 years of HR generalist or HR business partner experience
- Working knowledge of employment law and HR best practices
- Experience with employee relations, including documentation and investigation support
- Strong judgment, discretion, and the ability to handle confidential information
- Excellent written and verbal communication and the ability to coach and influence managers
- Experience with Workday or a comparable HRIS, and comfort working with data and reports
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Nice to Have
- Experience building or improving HR processes and policies in a growing company
- Experience supporting a high-growth or regulated environment
- HR certification (e.g., PHR, SHRM-CP) or a related degree

This role is onsite at Archer's HQ in San Jose five (5) days per week, Monday through Friday, during traditional business hours. Candidates that apply to this role understand and agree to the required working days and times of this role.

We drive a pay-for-performance culture and reward performance that supports the Company's business strategy. For this position we are targeting a base pay between $130,800 - $163,500. Actual compensation offered will be determined by factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
