Job Description

Join us as we transform immunology and deliver medicines that help autoimmune patients get their lives back. argenx is preparing for multi-dimensional expansion to reach more patients through a rich pipeline of differentiated assets, led by VYVGART, our first-in-class neonatal Fc receptor blocker approved for the treatment of gMG, and with the potential to treat patients across dozens of severe autoimmune diseases.

We are building a new kind of biotech company, one that maintains its roots as a science-based start-up and pushes our commitment to innovate across all corners of our business. We strive to inspire and grow our company, our partnerships, our science, and our people, because when we do, we deliver more for patients.

The Director / Senior Director [TBD], Strategic Alliances serves as the Enterprise Lead for the argenx partnership with IQVIA—owning the enterprise relationship architecture, strategic direction, governance model, and value creation agenda across clinical development and operations, digital and data/technology, GPS / pharmacovigilance, quality, and select commercial interactions, in close partnership with the Breakthrough Partner (BP) Lead.

This role carries primary strategic accountability for the global relationship and works with senior leaders across argenx and IQVIA to align intent, simplify complexity, strengthen executive engagement, and connect teams—so argenx engages IQVIA as one coherent enterprise partnership, not a fragmented, project-by-project set of interactions. The Director / Senior Director intentionally designs integration, governance, innovation, quality, and value creation into the full enterprise portfolio, enabling faster decisions, more consistent execution, and measurable outcomes for patients—while consistently modeling the argenx way of partnering.

Key Responsibilities

Enterprise Partnership Leadership

  • Serve as the senior enterprise-level lead for the global IQVIA partnership, ensuring argenx shows up with one aligned enterprise voice across clinical, digital, GPS, quality, and commercial interactions

  • Represent argenx as a strategic, engaged, and outcome-oriented enterprise partner—protecting long-term value by reducing fragmentation, eliminating misaligned asks, and reinforcing partnering behaviors grounded in empowerment, transparency, shared accountability, and the argenx way of partnering

  • Partner closely with the Breakthrough Partner (BP) Lead as a key senior stakeholder, ensuring alliance strategy, governance, priorities, and partner engagement are aligned with BP objectives and enterprise need

Enterprise Alignment and Connection

  • Act as a senior enterprise connector with end-to-end visibility across the IQVIA enterprise portfolio, aligning argenx leaders, teams, and communities with partner capabilities in an intentional and coordinated manner

  • Clarify enterprise intent and priorities for IQVIA and across argenx, proactively identifying and resolving duplication, conflicting priorities, or misalignment across functions, regions, and operating models

  • Enable effective, faster decision-making by establishing decision rights, escalation routes, leadership cadence, and executive-level alignment on desired outcomes

  • Establish and maintain strong working rhythms with the BP Lead to ensure visibility across IQVIA activities, timely escalation of cross-functional issues, and alignment on decisions that affect the broader partnership model

Value Creation, Innovation, and Growth

  • Lead the development and evolution of the multi-year alliance strategy and enterprise value narrative for IQVIA, ensuring the partnership is anchored in clear priorities, shared outcomes, and measurable business impact

  • Develop a strong understanding of IQVIA’s current capabilities across data, technology, scientific/clinical, quality, and operational delivery, translating contractual arrangements into scalable operating models that enable teams rather than slow them down

  • Collaborate with IQVIA and the BP Lead to identify and prioritize future-facing innovation opportunities, emerging capabilities, and new partnership approaches that advance argenx’s business priorities and evolve the enterprise partnership model beyond today’s work

  • Guide internal teams in moving from transactional engagement toward co-creation and differentiated enterprise value, converting scale and spend into measurable acceleration, quality, and outcomes

Required Capabilities and Experience

  • Extensive senior-level experience leading and evolving complex, enterprise-critical partnerships spanning multiple functions, such as clinical development/operations, data/technology, quality, and commercial, in a global, highly regulated environment

  • Strong enterprise leadership mindset with the ability to operate beyond individual initiatives, align senior stakeholders, and shape long-term organizational impact through partnerships

  • Demonstrated ability to anticipate future partnership needs, identify opportunities for innovation or simplification, and translate individual partnership insights into scalable enterprise improvements

  • Proven ability to act as a senior integrator and catalyst, aligning partner capabilities, internal priorities, clear decision rights, and decision-enabling governance around shared intent

  • Demonstrated cultural leadership, modeling curiosity, humility, transparency, empowerment, and shared accountability consistent with the argenx Way of Partnering

How This Role Operates at argenx

  • Acts as a trusted senior enterprise thought partner to argenx leadership and senior partner counterparts

  • Connects initiatives, conversations, and insights across teams that may not otherwise intersect

  • Helps teams and communities simplify complexity and focus on what matters most for enterprise and patient impact

  • Navigates trade‑offs with clarity, humility, and enterprise perspective

  • Demonstrates consistently that how we partner is as important as what we deliver

Background and Experience

Education and Professional Background

  • Advanced degree preferred (e.g., Master’s or PhD in life sciences, medicine, engineering, business, or a related field); equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered

  • Background in biopharma, life sciences, healthcare, or an adjacent highly regulated and innovation‑driven industry

  • Experience operating within complex, matrixed, and global organizational environments

Professional Experience

  • Typically requires 10 or more years of progressively responsible experience in strategic partnerships, alliance management, business development, enterprise strategy, or comparable enterprise-level roles

  • Demonstrated experience operating at an executive leadership interface, working across multiple functions and with senior external partner organizations

  • Proven leadership of complex, enterprise-critical partnerships that span multiple capabilities, business areas, and global geographies, with accountability for integration across the full enterprise portfolio

  • Experience shaping and evolving partnerships beyond execution toward value creation, co-innovation, decision clarity, and scalable enterprise impact, including governance, operating models, and performance management approaches

  • Experience partnering with senior internal stakeholders, including Breakthrough Partner Leads, to align external partnership strategy with business priorities, cross-functional needs, and enterprise outcomes

  • Track record of influencing strategic decisions and enterprise outcomes without formal authority, including engagement with senior internal and external stakeholders

  • Demonstrated ability to operate effectively in highly matrixed and ambiguous environments, balancing multiple priorities and stakeholder needs

Leadership and Enterprise Capabilities

  • Enterprise leadership mindset with the ability to think beyond individual initiatives and shape long-term organizational impact through partnerships

  • Ability to build trusted, transparent partnership with the BP Lead, balancing enterprise stewardship with clear understanding of business priorities, operational realities, and future capability needs

  • Proven capability to act as an integrator and catalyst, connecting people, capabilities, and ideas to unlock shared value

  • Experience translating insights and learnings from individual partnerships into reusable enterprise practices, models, or improvements

  • Sound judgment and executive presence, with comfort leading through change, uncertainty, and evolving strategic contexts

  • Demonstrated commitment to modeling the argenx Way of Partnering, including curiosity, humility, empowerment, transparency, and shared accountability
