Position Title: Full-Stack Software Engineer
Salary Range*: 130,000 - 150,000
Location**: Remote (U.S.-based, except CA & NY metro areas)
Reporting to: Brianna Dropinski
OUR TECH STACK
- Frontend: Vue 3, TypeScript, Vitest, Cypress
- Backend: Laravel (PHP 8), Java with Spring Boot, TypeScript, AWS Lambda, REST APIs
- Data: PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, DocumentDB
- Infrastructure: AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, GitHub Actions
OVERVIEW
The Automox console is where customers build patch policies, scope them to groups of endpoints, and confirm the results. You'll join a small development team that owns part of the business logic behind it, along with a set of integrations.
You'll build and own features end to end: the Vue interface customers work in, the services behind it, and the data models underneath. You'll work day to day with product managers, UX designers, and Quality Engineers, ship to customers regularly rather than at the end of a long cycle, and own how each feature gets built.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
- Build and ship customer-facing features across the full stack: Vue components and state management on the front end, Laravel, Spring Boot and TypeScript driven AWS Lambda services on the back end, and the data models and migrations that power it all
- Use AI coding tools as a normal part of your workflow, and hold their output to the same review standard as code you wrote yourself
- Design and document the API endpoints the console consumes, including pagination, filtering, and error handling that hold up on large customer environments
- Instrument what you ship with logging and metrics, then watch it after release and fix what the data shows
- Work with product and design to vet the product roadmap for your team’s product area and turn requirements into a technical plan and shippable increments
- Write unit and end-to-end tests for the flows customers depend on
- Review code and have yours reviewed
- Improve existing code: performance, technical debt, maintainability
- Take part in your team's on-call rotation
- Contribute to the shared component library
WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE
- Passion for solving customer problems
- Experience working with fast-moving cross-functional teams including engineering, design, and product
- Experience breaking complex functionality into a simple technical design
- Comfort moving between a Vue component and a database query in the same day
- An interest in continuous learning and sharing your knowledge with others
- An ability to drive changes in technology and processes with humility and tact
- A sense of ownership and curiosity that keeps you with a problem until you understand it, not just until the symptom goes away
REQUIREMENTS
- Three or more years building and shipping enterprise web applications
- Proficiency in TypeScript with a modern component framework. Vue preferred
- Server-side development experience in an object-oriented language. Java with Spring Boot and Typescript on Node.js preferred
- Working knowledge of relational and non-relational databases, including SQL and an eye for queries that won't scale
- Experience writing automated tests for the code you ship
- Strong written communication. Automox is a distributed company, so most decisions happen in writing
The salary range listed is the base pay range for this position. In addition, the total compensation package includes bonus, equity and benefits. Actual earnings may be less or more depending on a candidate's direct experience, skills, industry knowledge, and location.

We are a fully distributed company of remote employees.
