Legal Consultant – Commercial Contracts, Kuala Lumpur Malaysia (Mandarin Speaker)

 

We are seeking an experienced Legal Consultant – Commercial Contracts (Mandarin-Speaking) to support global and APAC clients across a broad range of commercial, regulatory, and cross-border legal matters.

This is an opportunity for a commercially minded legal professional to work closely with regional and global legal teams, business stakeholders, and external counsel. The successful candidate will provide practical, business-oriented legal advice while supporting contract management, regulatory compliance, and cross-border transactions across the APAC region.

 

Responsibilities:

• Work with headquarters' Legal Division and APAC Legal team to handle regional regulatory affairs such a telecommunications license application, renewal, filing, inquiries and other compliance matters.
• Provide practical legal solutions to internal stakeholders and advise on various cross border transactions
• Support legal affairs and contract management including contract drafting, negotiation, review, and approvals
• Provide internal training and prepare write u to raise legal awareness and ensure compliance on day to day business operations
• Conduct legal research on the matter as required and regularly monitor and research on changes in local laws and regulations in the APAC region
• Liaise with external counsels and assist in handling ad hoc projects

 

Minimum Qualifications: 

• 4+ yrs PQE minimum, with substantial experience in drafting, reviewing and negotiating a variety of commercial contracts.
• Experience in tech or telco is advantageous
• Prior work experience with clients in China is an advantage.
• Able to write and draft in Chinese and English is a plus
