ROLE OVERVIEW / DESCRIPCIÓN GENERAL DEL PUESTO

To support the International Scouting Department by covering a territory and identifying and evaluating amateur talent within an assigned territory, developing trusted relationships, and delivering clear, well-supported recommendations that help shape the Club’s signing strategy and future.

Brindar apoyo al Departamento de Scouting Internacional mediante la cobertura de un territorio asignado, identificando y evaluando talento amateur dentro de dicho territorio, desarrollando relaciones de confianza y proporcionando recomendaciones claras y bien fundamentadas que contribuyan a definir la estrategia de firmas y el futuro del Club.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES / RESPONSABILIDADES PRINCIPALES

Primary duties to include, but not limited to, the following:

• Develop and maintain thorough coverage of the assigned scouting territory.
• Identify, evaluate, and follow current and future prospects with professional potential.
• Create accurate, timely, and detailed player evaluation reports using the Club’s scouting systems and standards.
• Maintain schedules, follow lists, preference lists, organizational charts, depth charts, medical information, video analysis, and other prospect-related records.
• Gather relevant background and makeup information through relationships with players, families, coaches, agents, administrators, medical contacts, and other industry sources.
• Monitor player performance and development throughout the scouting cycle and communicate significant updates promptly.
• Collaborate with crosscheckers, Scouting leadership, Research and Development, and other Baseball Operations staff.
• Present clear, well-supported player recommendations during scouting meetings and draft preparation.
• Attend games, workouts, organizational meetings, showcases, tournaments, and other assigned scouting activities.
• Maintain a strong professional network throughout the assigned territory.
• Protect confidential organizational information.
• Represent the Club professionally and comply with all organizational and MLB policies.
• Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
• Operate various tracking technologies to evaluate players.
• Assist with video and high-frame rate video capture of pitchers and hitters.
• Edit, trim, and combine video clips.

Las funciones principales incluyen, entre otras, las siguientes:

• Desarrollar y mantener una cobertura exhaustiva del territorio de scouting asignado.
• Identificar, evaluar y dar seguimiento a prospectos actuales y futuros con potencial profesional.
• Elaborar informes precisos, oportunos y detallados de evaluación de jugadores utilizando los sistemas y estándares de scouting del Club.
• Mantener actualizados los calendarios, listas de seguimiento, listas de preferencias, organigramas, cuadros de profundidad, información médica, análisis de video y otros registros relacionados con prospectos.
• Recopilar información relevante sobre antecedentes y carácter (makeup) mediante relaciones con jugadores, familias, entrenadores, agentes, administradores, contactos médicos y otras fuentes de la industria.
• Supervisar el rendimiento y desarrollo de los jugadores durante todo el ciclo de scouting y comunicar oportunamente cualquier actualización significativa.
• Colaborar con scouts de seguimiento (crosscheckers), líderes de Scouting, el departamento de Investigación y Desarrollo (Research & Development) y otros miembros del personal de Operaciones de Béisbol.
• Presentar recomendaciones de jugadores claras y bien fundamentadas durante las reuniones de scouting y la preparación para el Draft.
• Asistir a partidos, entrenamientos, reuniones organizacionales, showcases, torneos y otras actividades de scouting asignadas.
• Mantener una sólida red profesional de contactos dentro del territorio asignado.
• Proteger la información confidencial de la organización.
• Representar al Club de manera profesional y cumplir con todas las políticas de la organización y de MLB.
• Realizar otras funciones y proyectos especiales según sean asignados.
• Operar diversas tecnologías de seguimiento para evaluar a los jugadores.
• Colaborar en la captura de video y video de alta velocidad de cuadros (high-frame-rate video) de pitchers y bateadores.
• Editar, recortar y combinar clips de video.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS / REQUISITOS PREFERIDOS

• Strong work ethic and willingness to work long, flexible hours including weekends and holidays.
• Advanced baseball knowledge from both a scouting and statistical perspective.
• Ability to understand and interpret TrackMan and Rapsodo data.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with all aspects of Baseball Operations, Scouting, and Player Development.
• Independent judgment and ability to multitask is required to plan, prioritize, and organize diversified workload.
• Ability to work as part of a team.
• Must be able to obtain travel documentation, if needed.

• Capacidad para trabajar en equipo.
• Debe poder obtener documentación de viaje, si fuera necesario.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / REQUISITOS OBLIGATORIOS

• Spoken and written fluency in English and Spanish.
• Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Ability and willingness to travel within and out of the country for extended periods of time and occasionally on short notice.
• Relocation may be required based on organizational needs, subject to mutual agreement.
