Emergency Medicine NP/PA

MiddleOn-site (New York)Salary undisclosed
Job Description
  • The BHN has six Emergency Departments and three Convenient Care locations

Three employment tracks:

1.     Combination of Emergency Department and Convenient Care: Primary responsibilities would include providing care at four emergency departments and two urgent/convenient care clinics.  Employment would be regional such that shifts would be scheduled in locations that are close together with ability to work at all sites.

 2.     Convenient Care Only: Evaluate and treat a wide range of non-emergent medical conditions, perform minor procedures (including suturing, splinting, incision and drainage), and interpret ancillary tests (labs, urinalysis, x-ray, EKG). Care is provided promptly but thoroughly.  Practitioners must be able to treat urgent conditions while knowing how to recognize emergencies to refer to a higher level of care.  Practitioners must have prior Emergency Department experience or can transition to this track after working in the combination track.

 3.     Independent Practice: Advanced Practice Clinicians who work independently at a Critical Access Hospital ED with attending physician consult as needed in order to assess patients, provide quality care and provide appropriate disposition.  This includes stabilizing patients with any necessary lifesaving procedures
