ABOUT BERNARD
Half of all appliance repair visits fail on the first trip: the wrong part, the wrong diagnosis, another week of waiting, and another truck roll. Bernard fixes this at the point of first contact.
Our AI answers the call, runs the diagnostic, predicts the right parts against live inventory, and sends the technician out with a game plan. We do not just book the job. We solve it before the truck rolls.
We are live with enterprise customers, growing fast, and building the operating system for appliance repair from our office in New York City. Every hire touches the product, the customer, and the trajectory of the company.
THE ROLE
You own production systems that serve real customers today. You will work across the stack to turn messy operating problems into software that dispatchers, technicians, and service leaders rely on every day.
You work directly with the founders and engineering team. You talk to customers, see the problem firsthand, and ship the fix.
WHAT YOU’LL OWN
• Build product workflows spanning calls, diagnostics, work orders, scheduling, dispatch, parts, and technician experiences.
• Ship AI agents and automation that act across voice, messaging, and operational workflows.
• Build production APIs, data models, integrations, dashboards, and internal tools.
• Own features from customer discovery through implementation, rollout, measurement, and iteration.
• Improve reliability and observability as usage scales.
YOU SHOULD APPLY IF
• You have 2+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• You are strong in TypeScript and comfortable moving across backend and frontend systems.
• You have shipped meaningful production software, not just prototypes.
• You thrive with autonomy, move quickly, and care about the customer outcome behind the code.
• You are energized by a broad scope and a short feedback loop.
PREFERRED
• Experience shipping LLMs or agents to production.
• Experience with real-time systems, voice, React, mobile, graph databases, or third-party integrations.
STACK
TypeScript and Python. The rest is modern, production-grade, and changes fast. If you are good, you will pick it up.

We are a small team. Everyone owns their domain end to end. There is no middle management, no committees, and no approval chain. If something needs to happen, you make it happen.
