Job Description

At Bosch, the Paint Equipment Setup Operator Technician is responsible for setting up, operating, monitoring, maintaining, and troubleshooting paint systems and wastewater treatment processes. This role supports production quality, environmental compliance, equipment reliability, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up, adjust, and maintain paint application, cleaning, testing, and finishing equipment.

• Collect and analyze samples from paint systems, pretreatment systems, and electrostatic spray processes. • Perform laboratory testing including pH, viscosity, conductivity, titrations, temperature, voltage, and related quality tests.

• Adjust paint systems to maintain texture, gloss, film thickness, adhesion, and product quality requirements. • Maintain paint, thinner, and chemical inventories and production records.

• Perform preventive maintenance, cleaning, lubrication, and minor repairs on paint equipment.

• Set up, maintain, and troubleshoot powder paint booth operations.

• Monitor wastewater treatment systems, pumps, gauges, filters, controls, and instrumentation.

• Collect, test, document, and report wastewater samples in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations. • Support ISO, environmental, municipal, and EPA compliance activities.

• Maintain accurate records, trend charts, inspection documentation, and operational reports.

• Perform other duties as assigned by leadership.

Qualifications

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification.

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical specifications.

• Ability to use measuring devices including scales, tapes, and micrometers.

• Ability to perform calculations and machine-setting adjustments.

• Knowledge of laboratory testing procedures and wastewater treatment operations preferred. • Strong communication, problem-solving, and technical troubleshooting skills.

• Experience with pumps, gauges, instrumentation, and environmental systems preferred.

 

Physical Demands

• Continuous standing and movement throughout the work shift.

• Frequent pushing, pulling, lifting, carrying, and positioning of materials and equipment.

• Regular handling of materials weighing 5 to 50 pounds. Loads over 50 pounds require team lifting or mechanical assistance.

• Frequent use of hands, wrists, elbows, shoulders, and upper body during equipment setup and maintenance.

• Ability to raise arms above shoulder level and work overhead.

• Ability to climb stairs and access elevated equipment.

• Continuous visual attention to quality, testing results, gauges, controls, and equipment operation.

• Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, chemical resistant gloves, hearing protection, protective clothing, respirators as required, and safety footwear.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this position, associates are regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and vibration. Occasional exposure to outdoor weather conditions. Noise levels are typically very loud.
