Why Box needs you:

The HomeWeb team, part of Box's Experiences Engineering organization, is responsible for the development, maintenance, and modernization of Box's core web platform for end users. The experiences this team builds are used every day by Box's customers and are central to how users navigate, find, upload, and work with their content.

HomeWeb is a great team to join if you want to work on highly visible product surfaces, improve performance and reliability at scale, and help teams deliver value more frequently and predictably. We are looking for someone who is comfortable using engineering and product metrics to guide decisions, improving CI/CD pipelines, strengthening automated quality gates, and modernizing a large, mature frontend platform using React, TypeScript, an internal design system, Module Federation, and modern automated testing practices.

What you’ll do:

• Develop high-quality, scalable, and responsive user experiences using modern frontend technologies.
• Build and modernize key end-user surfaces such as homepage, navigation, collections, uploads manager, content metadata, and search. Contribute to AI-enabled product experiences.
• Improve application performance and delivery health by monitoring and optimizing Apdex, page load times, rollout health, build times, deployment frequency, change failure rate, and other engineering and user experience metrics.
• Improve CI/CD pipelines, automated quality gates, release processes, and observability so the team can ship smaller, safer changes more frequently.
• Leverage AI tools (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor) to accelerate development, research, documentation, and bug triage.
• Help evolve our main web application from a monolithic into a modular architecture using Federated Modules / Module Federation.
• Replace manual QA processes with reliable automated test coverage using tools such as Playwright and related frontend testing frameworks.
• Contribute to defining and implementing engineering standards across product teams.
• Represent and advocate for Box Poland’s engineering excellence both internally and externally.
• Participate in our on-call rotation, available at all times while on-call to help respond to and triage any issues that arise.

Who you are:

• 6+ years of professional software development experience.
• Experience building, maintaining, and modernizing large-scale frontend applications used by broad customer audiences.
• Deep expertise in JavaScript/TypeScript with at least one modern frontend framework (e.g., React), and strong HTML/CSS knowledge with responsive UIs.
• Strong understanding of state management, accessibility, performance, and security basics.
• Solid grasp of system design and data modeling.
• Strong experience with CI/CD (using e.g. Jenkins), continuous delivery, safe rollout practices, and improving developer feedback loops.
• Familiarity with metrics such as deployment frequency, lead time for changes, change failure rate, MTTR, build reliability, test stability, Apdex, and page performance.
• Experience with Module Federation, federated frontend architectures, or large-scale frontend decomposition.
• Experience with frontend testing tools such as Playwright, React Testing Library, or WDIO.
• Experience designing and implementing APIs and services.
• Some backend coding experience with Node.js, PHP, or Java.
• Demonstrates ownership mentality and strives for excellence in both technical work and team interactions.
• Proficient in English. 

Nice to have:

• Experience with Google Cloud Platform and/or Amazon Web Services.
• Experience with design system migrations, especially in mature enterprise applications.
• Experience with AI-powered product experiences.
• Experience improving release cadence, CI reliability, flaky test reduction, pipeline performance, or engineering productivity metrics in large-scale software organizations.
• Passionate about new technologies with the capability to implement them in existing products.

Box lives its values, with community and in-person collaboration being a core part of our culture.
