Job Description

Cargo, Ballast & Marine Systems Operations

  • Operate, monitor, and troubleshoot marine systems related to the storage and export of stabilized crude oil, including ballast systems and Inert Gas (IG) systems;
  • Be responsible for Inert Gas (IG) system venting operations, including gas freeing and purging of the IG system, ensuring vent outlets and mast risers are operated in accordance with ISGOTT and manufacturer procedures;
  • Continuously monitor wind speed and direction during IG venting operations, assessing the extent of the hazardous gas dispersion zone and suspending or adjusting venting activities when wind conditions could direct hydrocarbon vapors toward occupied areas, the helideck, or ignition sources;
  • Prepare load and discharge plans for cargo and ballast, cargo calculations, cargo/slop/ballast tank entry, and cargo/slop/ballast tank condition monitoring;
  • Operate and monitor cargo offloading systems, mooring and positioning telemetry systems, and communication systems used during offloading operations with dynamically positioned shuttle tankers;
  • Prepare and assist the marine team with Crude Oil Washing (COW) operations, water washing, tank gas freeing, and preparation of cargo and ballast tanks for entry; assist with inspection of cargo and ballast tanks as per the Computerized Maintenance Management System;
  • Responsible for ensuring that the FPSO's intact stability and structural strength
