Position Summary:
The SAP Receivables Management Consultant supports federal clients in implementing, configuring, and maintaining SAP Finance and SAP Public Sector Financials solutions. This role applies functional expertise in one or more SAP Finance domains, including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Asset Accounting, and Funds Management, to gather requirements, design solutions, and test system functionality. The consultant performs standard professional work independently, contributes to project deliverables, and partners with architects, developers, technical services, and business analysts to deliver solutions that meet functional and federal budgetary requirements.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
- Leads requirements-gathering sessions with client stakeholders and designs SAP Finance solutions that meet documented business requirements.
- Performs business process design and system analysis across SAP Finance and SAP Public Sector Financials processes.
- Configures SAP Funds Management to track and control detailed budgets organized by fund (source of budget), funds center (area of responsibility), and commitment item (type of expenditure).
- Creates and maintains budgets at each level of the fund, funds center, and commitment item structure, and supports budget availability control.
- Supports configuration and maintenance of General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Asset Accounting processes.
- Works with technical counterparts to confirm that technical solutions meet all functional requirements.
- Coordinates across architects, developers, technical services teams (e.g., BASIS, Middleware, Portal), and business analysts to carry out business analysis activities.
- Supports the maintenance, enhancement, and development of SAP modules, including interfaces with other applications.
- Writes and executes test plans, documents results, and supports defect resolution through closure.
- Prepares functional specifications, configuration documentation, and end-user training materials.
- Adheres to all certified processes as part of our commitment to maintaining the highest standards of quality and information security, which includes actively participating in quality assurance activities and ensuring the protection of sensitive information in accordance with our security policies.
- Performs other related tasks as assigned by direct supervisor.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 1 to 3 years of relevant experience with a bachelor's degree, or 3 to 5 years of relevant experience without a bachelor's degree, including a minimum of 2 years of SAP ECC Finance experience.
- Experience in one or more SAP Finance domains: General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Asset Accounting, or Funds Management.
- Experience with SAP Public Sector Financials.
- Funds Management configuration experience, including creating budgets across the fund, funds center, and commitment item structure.
- Experience writing and executing test plans.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain an active government clearance (requires U.S. citizenship).
Nice to Have:
- SAP Finance or SAP S/4HANA Finance certification.
- Experience with SAP S/4HANA Finance or SAP Public Sector Management on S/4HANA.
- Experience with SAP Financial Supply Chain Management (FSCM) receivables management components, such as Collections Management, Dispute Management, and Credit Management.
- Experience with Grants Management or Budget Control System (BCS).
- Knowledge of federal financial management standards, such as USSGL and GTAS reporting.
- Experience supporting DoD or federal civilian agency financial systems.
- Familiarity with the SAP Activate methodology.
Compensation: In accordance with pay transparency law, the expected salary range for this position is $95,000 – $115,000 annually. The actual compensation offered will be determined based on factors such as the candidate’s experience, qualifications, skills, and location. We are committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. This posted range reflects our good faith estimate of the compensation we reasonably expect to offer for this role at the time of posting.
