Analyst - Derivative Settlements
Role Overview:
The role of the Settlements Analyst is to ensure the timely and accurate settlements of cash flows of Derivative Settlement trades on behalf of the client. This involves conducting pre-settlements check and affirmation of cashflows with counterparties, identifying and resolving any issues that may prevent timely settlement. The role reports into the Settlements manager, with oversight responsibilities shared by the supervisor.
Core Responsibilities:
The Settlements function serves as a layer of control where booking issues such as incorrect economics (i.e., wrong direction, currency, index, notional, counterparty, etc.) are detected, escalated and resolved. The Analyst is expected to ensure the timely affirmation of cashflows with counterparties and performing all pre-settlements checks, settlement of cashflows and timely escalation of issues and discrepancies.
The role also encompasses Investigations function that requires timely follow up on failed settlements, reconciliations and investigations of Nostro and Suspense breaks stemming from systemic or economic issues, fully observing the procedures and policies of the function.
