About the role

As a Staff Product Manager for Corporate Spend, you'll own the the vision, strategy, and roadmap for Coast's next generation of AI-powered expense management products. Your job is to turn fleets that already trust Coast for fuel their fuel spend into customers who run all of their company spend through us, by figuring out what's stopping them and building what gets them there. You’ll partner closely with engineering, design, data, and cross-functional stakeholders (Risk, Legal, Customer Success, Sales) to build intelligent experiences that help customers save money, reduce risk, and eliminate manual work. You'll own problems end to end and makes consequential decisions that shape the outcome. This role blends AI-native product development (LLM-powered workflows, evaluation systems, human-in-the-loop design) and deep product sense. 

Location & work mode

Coast is an in-person company. This role is based out of our New York City office and requires in-person presence 3 to 4 days a week. We believe great products are built by people who are in the room together: collaborating closely, moving fast, and holding each other to a high bar.

What you'll do

  • Perform up-front discovery through user interviews, competitive research, data analysis, etc. and present findings to the corporate spend team with conviction and rigor
  • Marry customer insights with technical possibilities, crafting intuitive user experiences that abstract away complexity
  • Drive high-velocity execution with a world-class team of engineers and designers, balancing principled intuition with data-driven decision making
  • Prototype rapidly using tools like Claude or ChatGPT to accelerate the product development lifecycle and fast-forward to production-ready products
  • Improve our AI-driven product development process
  • Craft messaging around upcoming features that resonates with users
  • Enable sales and marketing teams to effectively communicate with and win with customers
  • Stay deeply plugged into AI research, industry trends, and emergent applications, filtering signal from noise and applying it creatively to Coast’s product

What we’re looking for

  • BA/BS in a technical or analytical field (e.g. Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Applied Sciences)
  • Minimum 6 years of product management or adjacent product-building experience
  • Strong product judgment and first-principles thinking across complex workflows, data products, integrations, and user experiences
  • World-class design & product taste
  • AI fluency and passion, demonstrated through hands-on experience building AI features, prototypes, or side projects, plus an understanding of evaluation, retrieval, latency, cost, safety, and accuracy tradeoffs
  • Comfort collaborating in technical environments (Figma, Git) and using modern prototyping tools (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor)
  • Fluency with experimentation and product metrics, plus strong instincts for when qualitative customer discovery is required
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams with urgency and ownership, set direction, make tradeoffs, and deliver measurable outcomes
  • Excellent communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to translate between subject matter experts, technical teams, and non-technical stakeholders
  • Shameless curiosity, a propensity to question things deeply
  • Extreme speed and clarity
