Learning & Development Specialist

JOB SUMMARY The Learning and Development Specialist is responsible for designing, implementing, and evaluating learning programs and initiatives to foster employee development and enhance organizational performance that are specific to the position.  The position leads the development and administration of on-the-job training (OJT) programs that support employee onboarding, skill development, qualification, and career progression. Working closely with production supervisors and subject matter experts, this position establishes training pathways, competency verification processes, skills matrices, and employee qualification standards to ensure consistent training delivery and workforce readiness across departments and shifts. The position monitors program effectiveness through both qualitative and quantitative measures, including training records, competency attainment, KPI alignment, employee interactions, and feedback from department managers throughout the organization.  This position ensures accurate training records, qualification documentation, and competency verification processes are maintained to support operational, quality, and safety requirements.
