About the role

In the role of Senior Strategic Sourcing Manager, Marketing, you will report to the Sr. Director, Strategic Sourcing.

We are considering applicants for Los Angeles, CA.

This expert individual-contributor role owns the supplier strategy, sourcing operating model, and commercial playbooks for Crunchyroll's Marketing category across paid media, agencies, creative production, events and experiential, influencer, public relations and communications, theatrical and title marketing, regional marketing, and marketing operations. You will work on significant and unique issues where supplier decisions require evaluation of intangibles such as brand impact, campaign timing, creative quality, audience reach, usage rights, production risk, regional nuance, and commercial leverage. You will exercise independent judgment in sourcing methods, negotiation strategies, evaluation criteria, and stakeholder decision paths, with results that may impact how the Marketing function buys, governs, and measures supplier performance. Success in the first year will include a Marketing category strategy, preferred supplier and consolidation roadmap, agency and production governance playbooks, and a leadership-facing cadence for renewal, performance, and commercial decision-making.

Core Areas of Responsibility

  • Own the function-wide Marketing category strategy, including supplier segmentation, spend baselining, agency and production roster planning, consolidation opportunities, risk areas, and sourcing roadmaps tied to current and future Marketing initiatives.
  • Lead complex sourcing, pitch/RFx processes, supplier selection, and commercial negotiations across paid media, agency retainers and project SOWs, creative/content production, events and experiential, public relations, influencer/talent, regional marketing, and campaign support.
  • Create formal networks across Growth Marketing, Brand & Community, Creative Marketing, Events, Theatrical, regional Marketing teams, Finance, Legal, and Accounts Payable to bring decision makers together and move complex work through ambiguity.
  • Serve as a Marketing sourcing subject-matter expert, advising senior stakeholders on supplier strategy, cost drivers, negotiation strategy, governance tradeoffs, risk, and category implications that affect multiple teams.
  • Build and institutionalize Marketing supplier governance, including preferred supplier lists, rate cards, agency fee models, production bid standards, SOW templates, insertion-order discipline, usage-rights considerations, performance metrics, and supplier business reviews.
  • Reduce supplier fragmentation and administrative drag by setting standards for repeatable buying motions, improving purchase-order and contract discipline, and creating adoption paths that protect campaign speed while improving value and risk management.

About You

  • You have 8+ years of strategic sourcing, category management, procurement, agency management, or vendor-management experience, including deep expertise across multiple Marketing categories.
  • You are recognized as a subject-matter expert in Marketing sourcing, agency management, supplier strategy, or commercial governance, with the ability to bring networks of stakeholders together to get complex work done.
  • You have negotiated complex Marketing agreements across agencies, paid media, creative production, events and experiential, public relations, influencer/talent, campaign localization, regional marketing services, or other IP/content-driven supplier areas.
  • You understand Marketing commercial models, including agency retainers, project-based SOWs, media buying structures, production cost drivers, usage rights, rate cards, talent or influencer terms, performance-based supplier management, and regional campaign execution needs.
