Application Domain Owner
Do you want to be a valued part of the critical infrastructure that serves communities across Europe and beyond? Are you looking for a position in which you can set direction and help shape our company? If so, then you could be the newest addition to our Application Management Team
About the role
Be part of the movement - and play your part.
We are looking for an experienced and collaborative Application Domain Owner to manage the application lifecycle within our Digital Workplace and Crew Management System, including Microsoft 365 and Adonis HR.
In this role, you will act as the application manager, ensuring that our applications remain secure, stable, fit for purpose and aligned with business needs throughout their lifecycle.
As Application Domain Owner, you will be the key technology counterpart to the business, working closely with business representatives to understand their needs and translating them into a structured and prioritized technology backlog.
You will facilitate the prioritization of initiatives together with the business, balance business needs with technical requirements, risks, dependencies and available capacity, and drive the agreed priorities through an agile delivery process.
The role combines application management, stakeholder management, lifecycle management and agile delivery. You will ensure that the applications remain stable, secure and fit for purpose while continuously driving improvements and new capabilities.
You will be responsible for the following:
Manage the application lifecycle — ensure applications are stable, secure, supported and continuously improved, including upgrades, technical debt, compliance and vendor management.
Partner with the business — understand business needs, translate them into a structured backlog, and facilitate prioritization and roadmap discussions together with the business.
Drive agile delivery — lead quarterly planning and facilitate sprint planning, daily stand-ups, backlog refinement, sprint reviews and retrospectives.
Coordinate delivery — work across business stakeholders, application specialists, vendors, architects and other technology teams to ensure agreed initiatives are delivered.
Manage risks and dependencies — identify and follow up on technical, operational and delivery risks, dependencies and impediments.
Continuously improve — identify opportunities to improve applications, processes and the digital employee experience through technology, automation and new capabilities.
Build synergies across the domain — identify opportunities for standardisation, reuse and collaboration across applications, teams and business areas, ensuring we leverage common capabilities and avoid duplication.
Lead or support projects impacting the domain — represent the domain in cross-functional initiatives, provide application expertise and ensure impacts, dependencies and requirements are properly addressed.
About you
We think the strongest teams are built on diversity and inclusivity. Contrasting opinions, varied skills and strong characters bring out the best in us all. With this in mind, we imagine you combine strong interpersonal skills with a natural sense of ownership. You are someone who thrives on collaboration and are skilled at influencing without formal authority, facilitating dialogue between different stakeholder groups, and balancing business needs with technical possibilities.
You are a strong communicator who listens actively, challenges constructively, and builds positive relationships across business and technology teams. Combined with your structured approach and ability to balance multiple priorities, this enables you to drive progress and create value. We also believe you bring the following to be successful in the role:
Experience in application management, product ownership, IT service management or a similar role.
Strong experience working with business stakeholders and translating business needs into technology initiatives.
Practical experience with agile ways of working and facilitating agile ceremonies.
Experience managing application backlogs, roadmaps, vendors and delivery plans.
Good understanding of application lifecycle management, integrations, security and technology dependencies.
Experience with Microsoft 365 applications, with SharePoint being a key area of expertise.
Experience in application management, digital workplace solutions, or similar enterprise platforms.
Knowledge with Adonis HR systems and/or Marine Crewing Systems is an advantage.
