About the Role
DigitalOcean’s Core Compute organization provides reliable, high-performance virtual machine infrastructure (Droplets), scalable Autoscale Pools, and flexible resource allocation systems that allow millions of developers to run critical applications confidently at scale. We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer I to join our Compute Platform Services team. This team is responsible for building the scalable backend infrastructure, control planes, and hypervisor-orchestration engines that provision, lifecycle-manage, and scale compute workloads safely and reliably.
In this role, you will help design and develop high-throughput backend systems that orchestrate complex VM placement and execution workflows, interface with hypervisor control layers, and process real-time resource-telemetry signals. You will work on solving distributed systems
