NorthWest Wood Treaters LP, a wood treating plant, operating as Doman Treating is part of the Doman Treating Division, which is under the Doman Building Materials Group Ltd.

SUMMARY

Reporting to the Plant Manager, the General Labourer wraps, bands, labels, counts, and identifies lumber using various lumber handling equipment.

EXPECTED CONTRIBUTIONS

• Operates lumber handling equipment at various wood stacking machinery.
• Apply barcode on lumber.
• Bands and wraps lumber.
• Occasionally hand piles wood.
• Services production machines.
• Maintains a clean and organized yard.
• Adheres to all work safety rules and regulations.
• Adheres to customer service commitments.

Requirements

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

• Attention to detail.
• Able to count and identify various lumber products.
• Experience working in a lumber mill or lumber yard is desirable.
• Must have own steel-toed boots.
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds or 23 kilograms.
• Bending, lifting, and reaching during course of shift.
• Must be able to speak, read, and write English.
• Forklift certification is an asset.
