Information Technology Industrial Placement
Job Description
Looking for a placement where you can apply your technology skills to real-world challenges and make a meaningful impact? At EDF, Success is Personal. Join our Information Technology (IT) Industrial Placement and help shape the digital solutions that support the future of low-carbon energy.
The Opportunity
This Information Technology Industrial Placement is expected to begin in early September 2027 and offers a starting salary of £26,050. You'll have the opportunity to gain valuable experience supporting technology solutions within one of the UK's most significant energy infrastructure programmes.
During this 12-month IT placement, you'll gain hands-on experience in a dynamic technology environment, working alongside experienced Solution Architects, Technical Architects, Security Architects and Project Teams. You'll contribute to innovative projects while developing skills that support a business driving the transition towards An Electric Britain.
What You’ll Experience
Being part of Hinkley Point C means helping to shape the future of low-carbon energy. You'll contribute to a project that will provide clean electricity for millions of homes while supporting the UK's energy security.
During your IT Industrial Placement, you'll gain exposure to the full solution lifecycle, from understanding business requirements and shaping technology solutions through to supporting governance and assurance activities. You'll work closely with experienced professionals while developing practical skills in technology architecture and solution design.
As part of the Technical Assurance team, you'll support the development of solution designs, architecture documentation and technical artefacts throughout the project lifecycle. You'll gain exposure to enterprise architecture, cloud technologies, systems integration and solution governance, while helping ensure technology solutions align with organisational standards, security requirements and strategic objectives.
Your Work Location
You'll be based at the Satellite Delivery Centre (SDC) in #Bridgwater, working with technology and project teams supporting the delivery of Hinkley Point C.
As this is an on-site placement, you'll gain valuable exposure to a large-scale infrastructure programme while collaborating with technical and business stakeholders across the organisation.
Who You Are
To be eligible for this EDF Industrial Placement, you need to be studying towards, or have already achieved, a bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Cyber Security, Computer Science, Software Engineering or a closely related discipline. You'll have an interest in technology, digital innovation and solving complex business challenges.
To be appointed to this role, you will need to meet the criteria for Security Vetting, which will, ordinarily, require you to have been a resident of the UK for at least three of the past five years.
Pay, Benefits and Culture
Alongside a starting salary of £26,050 per annum and a market-leading pension scheme, your package will include customisable benefits such as electric vehicle leasing, discounted gym membership, life assurance, tech vouchers, experience days, and more.
