Job Description

Job Description

Looking for an opportunity to make a real impact on the UK's transition to cleaner energy? As a Project Planner, you'll provide the planning expertise that helps renewable energy projects progress from concept to delivery.

At EDF power solutions, we’re shaping an Electric UK and Ireland. Your work will help us turn that ambition into action – delivering renewable energy solutions that will power homes, businesses and communities for generations to come.

As a Project Planner, you'll work closely with Project Managers and stakeholders across the business, providing the planning insight and structure needed to support projects from development through to construction. Your work will be central to effective project delivery, reporting, governance and long-term success.

The Opportunity

As a Project Planner, you'll play a key role in supporting the successful delivery of renewable energy projects across multiple technologies. Working within our Project Management Office, you'll help create, develop and maintain project plans that support informed decision-making and project performance.

Alongside a competitive salary and potential for an annual bonus, you'll benefit from a flexible hybrid working arrangement of both our office in #Durham and home working with occasional travel for site visits as required.

You'll work across a diverse portfolio of renewable energy projects, helping to establish robust project plans, track milestones, support reporting activities and contribute to the continuous improvement of planning standards and processes. This is an excellent opportunity to broaden your experience while helping deliver a net zero future.

Why EDF power solutions?

We’re united by a shared ambition: to tackle climate change, shaping an Electric UK and Ireland. Our diverse team is growing fast, driven by innovation and a commitment to clean, green energy for all.

With technologies spanning onshore and offshore wind, solar, battery storage and green hydrogen, we’re the UK and Ireland’s most diverse renewable generator. By 2035, we aim to deliver 10GW of low-carbon energy – and we’d love you to help us get there.

Who You Are

We're looking for a Project Planner who is organised, collaborative and experienced in developing and maintaining project plans within complex project environments. You'll be comfortable working with multiple stakeholders and managing planning information that supports successful project delivery. To be shortlisted, you need to offer:

  • Experience in project planning from development through to construction phase within the renewables industry
  • Experience developing, coordinating and maintaining project plans within a project management environment
  • Knowledge of project baselining, milestone tracking and project reporting
  • Experience managing and developing cost and resource-loaded project plans
  • Experience using Primavera P6 planning software and Microsoft Project

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Supporting Project Managers with the creation, development and maintenance of project plans
  • Developing and maintaining consistent project planning standards, formats and layouts
  • Establishing project baselines and monitoring progress against key milestones
  • Supporting project status reporting and portfolio reporting activities
  • Identifying planning risks and opportunities through regular plan reviews
  • Working with stakeholders across the business to coordinate planning activities
  • Developing and improving planning templates using lessons learned and best practice
  • Maintaining cost and resource-loaded schedules to support effective project delivery
  • Providing planning expertise across a portfolio of renewable energy projects
  • Contributing to the continuous improvement of planning processes and tools
