Junior Legal Adviser – Marketplace
Our Mission: eMAG’s Public Policy team is committed to building a resilient digital economy. We collaborate with a diverse range of stakeholders, from business associations to governmental bodies, both within Romania and internationally. Our Legal Team tackles a myriad of challenges, from contract drafting to organizational support, while our Sustainability Team guides us toward responsible growth
What you’ll have to do:
- Provide legal advice to the commercial department and executive management team concerning third-party seller agreements and platform contracts, ranging from drafting, review and interpretation up to the follow up all legal parts of these contracts;
- Research and analyze e-commerce and consumer protection laws, platform regulations (including the Digital Services Act), and marketplace guidelines, and apply them to policy text, company practices, and factual situations;
- Draft new and revised seller policies, platform terms and related contract forms to comply with applicable e-commerce legislation;
- Develop and maintain detailed procedural processes that reduce redundancy, improve accuracy and efficiency, and achieve organizational objectives;
- Issue legal opinion regarding contracts and other legal matters;
- Ensure that all rules and regulations of the company are compliant with the legislation in force;
- Ensure representation of company’s best interests by providing support representation for business affairs in developing and maintaining effective relationships with partners and regulatory bodies;
- Handle and monitor complaints and legal claims with marketplace sellers;
- Archive legal documents;
- Provide legal support to all the other departments.
What makes you a good fit:
- Has a law degree from a reputable university;
- Experience in commercial and/or marketplace seller contracts revision, drafting, and negotiation;
- 2 years of experience in a similar position;
- The ability to plan and prioritize workloads to meet deadlines is fundamental;
- The candidate should be confident, having the ability to operate in a dynamic environment;
- Strong interpersonal skills and effective communication (both verbal and written);
- Highly organized, analytical, task focused in a fast-moving environment;
- Advantage: experience in e-commerce, marketplace or retail; Computer literate; Fluency in English
