As a Backend Engineer, you'll have real ownership from day one over the engine behind our platform: high-throughput workflows, data pipelines and integrations with the tools our customers live in. You'll make real technical trade-offs and help define how we build as the company scales.

If you enjoy designing systems that hold up under load, debugging the hard stuff and seeing your work directly impact customers, you'll have plenty of room to make a difference here.

About the role

Every lead found, every signal detected and every message sent on Enginy runs through our backend. As usage grows, so do the volume, the integrations and the reliability bar and that's the problem space you'll own.

We're looking for an engineer who does more than execute tickets: someone who owns problems end to end, from design to production to observability.

Design → build → ship → observe → scale

What you'll own

• Core services: build and maintain scalable, reliable services that power our core engine
• Async workflows: work with async architectures, data pipelines and workflow orchestration with Temporal
• APIs & integrations: design and implement production-grade APIs and integrations with external platforms (CRMs, LinkedIn and more)
• Performance & reliability: optimize performance, debug complex issues and ensure strong observability across the system
• End-to-end delivery: collaborate closely with Product, Design and Frontend to ship complete features with a focus on quality, reliability and speed
• Engineering standards: help shape engineering practices, code quality and architecture as we scale

About you

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience with a strong backend focus
• Strong experience with TypeScript and Node.js
• Solid understanding of modern API design and async workflows
• Experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL or similar)
• Ability to work autonomously, debug complex issues and ship high-quality code
• Strong communication skills and an advanced level of English
• Bias for action and ownership you thrive in a fast-moving startup

Nice to have

• Experience with workflow engines (e.g. Temporal), distributed systems or microservices
• Experience with Redis, Elasticsearch, Kafka or third-party API integrations
• CI/CD practice with GitHub Actions
• Experience in early-stage or fast-scaling startups
• Interest in B2B SaaS, sales tech or automation tools
