POSITION OVERVIEW
Reporting to the Head of Finance, the Accounts Assistant plays a key role within the finance team, supporting day-to-day accounting operations across Accounts Receivable (AR), Accounts Payable (AP), bank reconciliations, month-end accruals, and financial close activities. The role ensures accurate financial records, timely processing of transactions, and effective support for the monthly book close process while maintaining compliance with company policies and procedures.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Record and process purchase invoices, sales invoices, credit notes, and debit notes accurately in the accounting system.
- Handle day-to-day Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) activities, including vendor payments, customer receipts, and follow-up on outstanding balances
- Perform regular bank reconciliations (BRS), investigate discrepancies, and ensure all transactions are accurately recorded in the accounting system.
- Prepare and post monthly accruals, prepayments, and journal entries in accordance with established accounting policies and procedures.
- Assist with month-end and year-end book closing activities, including balance sheet reconciliations and supporting schedules.
- Reconcile customer and vendor accounts, resolve outstanding items, and collaborate with internal stakeholders to address accounting queries.
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED
- Proven experience in an accounting role with exposure to Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, bank reconciliations, and month-end close activities.
- Experience processing accounting transactions across multiple countries/entities, with the ability to work with different currencies and business processes
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, journal entries, accruals, and financial reconciliations.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive, with good communication skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
