Head of Brand Marketing
Why Faculty?
We established Faculty in 2014 because we thought that AI would be the most important technology of our time. Since then, we’ve worked with over 350 global customers to transform their performance through human-centric AI. You can read about our real-world impact here.
We don’t chase hype cycles. We innovate, build and deploy responsible AI which moves the needle - and we know a thing or two about doing it well. We bring an unparalleled depth of technical, product and delivery expertise to our clients who span government, finance, retail, energy, life sciences and defence.
Our business, and reputation, is growing fast and we’re always on the lookout for individuals who share our intellectual curiosity and desire to build a positive legacy through technology.
AI is an epoch-defining technology, join a company where you’ll be empowered to envision its most powerful applications, and to make them happen.
What you will be doing
The Head of Brand Marketing ensures that Faculty looks, sounds and shows up like the category leader it is: through a distinctive brand, a body of storytelling with a genuine point of view, a library of sharp assets that bring to life the exceptional work of our teams, and a marketing plan that is tightly aligned to Faculty’s business plan and strategic intent. It is delivered with a standard of craft that means nothing about Faculty ever feels accidental.
Strategic Responsibilities
This role has two core mandates:
1. Brand Strategy & Differentiation
You will be the primary custodian of the Faculty brand. Differentiating and elevating Faculty is a core strategic priority: you will position the company as the clear leader in applied AI, building reputation through bold, opinionated storytelling rather than the vague futurism that dominates so much of AI marketing.
2. Marketing Strategy & Delivery
You will co-create Faculty’s marketing strategy with the Director of Marketing and Communications, and develop and own the marketing plan that brings it to life, in line with Faculty's overall business plan and strategic intent.
You will hold the bar for excellence in marketing delivery: every asset matches the premium feel of our brand, every campaign is executed with purpose and precision, every narrative is crisp and intentional.
You will oversee events, digital, creative and content, making sure everything we produce is sharp, crisp, high quality and unmistakably Faculty.
Key Deliverables:
Brand & Narrative
Primary custodian of the Faculty brand
Foundational assets: corporate and commercial narratives, brand guidelines, case studies, canonical assets, ensuring central assets are culturally sensitive and travel well
Faculty differentiation: build Faculty’s reputation as a leader in applied AI through powerful storytelling about our work and opinionated perspectives on applied AI
Marketing Strategy & Planning
Develop and own the marketing plan, ensuring it is tightly aligned to the business plan and able to flex as priorities shift.
Sit as a core member of the Marketing Leadership Team, shaping decisions that affect the wider function and bringing a brand and marketing lens to the leadership table.
Use data and audience insight to prioritise investment, favouring durable brand equity and growth over vanity metrics.
Marketing Delivery
Ensure every asset matches the premium feel of the Faculty brand and speaks directly to the audiences it's built for
Execute with purpose and precision: every campaign, launch and piece of content should have a clear reason to exist and a clear standard it's held to.
Set and protect a language standard that is parsimonious and human: no jargon, no filler, no vague futurism, just clear, confident writing that respects the reader.
Digital, Creative & Content Oversight
Oversee digital, creative, events, and content, ensuring every output is intentional, high quality and unmistakably Faculty.
Direct creative development across campaigns, visual identity applications, video and design, holding a high bar for craft.
Partner with the Head of Storytelling - who owns thought leadership and the lab-driven POV - to ensure content and creative output reinforce the same brand narrative and a consistent standard of storytelling.
Leadership & Collaboration
Partner closely with Marketing and Communications Leadership to develop and deliver integrated strategies.
Lead, coach and develop a team spanning digital, events, creative and brand disciplines, raising individual capability while staying hands-on where your own judgement adds most value.
Bring bold ideas, energy and vision, challenging marketing orthodoxies to bring Faculty marketing to a new level
Lead the team to become truly AI-native - using AI tools to work faster and push craft further, as well as identifying opportunities to deploy AI-enabled marketing tools and skills across the business
Support the international expansion of the Faculty brand, working with regional colleagues to ensure it travels well and adapts where it needs to.
Who we're looking for
Significant experience in the technology / AI space
Proven ability to build and own a brand strategy for a technology brand, from foundational narratives through to visual identity and tone of voice
A proven ability to find the story in complex, technical material and tell it with clarity, confidence and a genuine point of view, with an instinct for which formats will make it land.
Experience co-creating and owning a marketing plan tightly aligned to business strategy, translating ambition into a deliverable, resourced plan.
A strong eye and a high bar. Experience directing creatives, designers and agencies to produce work that is sharp and distinctive.
A track record of holding a team to intentional, deliberate and precise execution: premium assets, purposeful campaigns, and writing that is parsimonious and human
Experience owning a company's digital platforms and driving brand equity, not just lead volume.
Comfortable partnering with editorial and content leads to ensure output reinforces brand positioning and a consistent point of view.
A sharp instinct for what makes a brand distinctive in a crowded category, and the conviction to say no to generic execution.
Skilled at working alongside C-suite leaders and technical experts, earning trust quickly through sound judgement and a bias for delivery.
An ability to operate at the upper echelons of a business, and to show how brand and marketing strategy is aligned to commercial goals and actively helping achieve them.
Proven ability to lead, coach and develop a multi-disciplinary team. A player-coach who neither hides behind the team nor bottlenecks it.
Deep understanding of AI, its transformative potential when deployed at enterprise and government scale, its associated risks, and the current landscape of global AI policy and safety discourse.
Highly self-sufficient, with the flexibility and tenacity to thrive in a fast-paced, complex scale-up environment now operating at global scale.

Our Recruitment Ethos
We aim to grow the best team - not the most similar one. We know that diversity of individuals fosters diversity of thought, and that strengthens our principle of seeking truth. And we know from experience that diverse teams deliver better work, relevant to the world in which we live. We’re united by a deep intellectual curiosity and desire to use our abilities for measurable positive impact. We strongly encourage applications from people of all backgrounds, ethnicities, genders, religions and sexual orientations.
If you don’t feel you meet all the requirements, but are excited by the role and know you bring some key strengths, please don't hesitate in applying as you might be right for this role, or other roles. We are open to conversations about part-time hours.
A note on AI: we're happy for you to use it for research and interview prep, but please don't use it to generate answers during live interviews. We also use an AI note-taker (Metaview) in interviews so interviewers can stay present (which you can opt out of just let us know,) and every application is reviewed by a human, never decided by AI.
