Crop Advisor
FarmRaise is building a trusted bench of independent agronomists to support corn growers in Iowa and Nebraska, and the wider Corn Belt, as they document nutrient management for the 45Z Clean Fuel Production Credit. You would review a grower’s nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium plan for a field, apply your professional judgment, and sign your own written opinion in line with USDA’s technical guidelines (7 CFR part 2100). You hold the authority to approve, revise, or decline any budget, and your opinion becomes part of the grower’s audit-ready record.
You will be engaged as an independent contractor and paid a flat fee per budget by FarmRaise, with no connection to enrollment, outcomes, or bushels. We will provide the templates and a simple workflow in FarmRaise so your time goes to agronomy.
Requirements
Based in the United States and eligible to work as an independent contractor in the U.S.
Active certification as an ASA Certified Crop Adviser (CCA), Certified Professional Agronomist, or NAICC Certified Professional Crop Consultant
Deep working knowledge of Iowa and Nebraska corn systems, including N, P, and K management
Ability to independently evaluate nutrient budgets and sign written opinions in line with USDA’s technical guidelines (7 CFR part 2100)
Independence from the growers you review: you cannot be their input retailer, relative, landlord, or tenant
Willingness to document your certifications and how you meet the independence standard
Nice to have
Extension or university agronomy experience
Familiarity with 45Z, clean fuel programs, or audit-ready recordkeeping
If you care about growers being rewarded for the practices they already use, and you want to help the Corn Belt capture real value from 45Z, we would love to meet you.
