Engineering Technician
Filtronic is an award-winning technology company designing and manufacturing advanced RF, microwave and mmWave solutions for the Space, Aerospace, Defence and Telecommunications markets. We are looking for a practical and technically minded Engineering Technician to join our engineering team based at the Cambridge Science Park in the beautiful city of Cambridge.
This is a varied, hands-on role supporting RF, electronics and mechanical development, with the opportunity to develop a broad range of technical skills. Working alongside RF, electronics, software and mechanical engineers, you will help turn designs into working prototypes and reliable test setups for telecommunications, space and defence applications.
The role is predominantly laboratory and workshop based and will provide practical engineering support across the development, assembly and testing of high-performance products.
You will support a range of engineering activities, including:
- Setting up and carrying out RF and electronic measurements.
- Operating test and measurement equipment including network analysers, signal generators, power meters and oscilloscopes.
- Connecting laboratory instruments to PCs using Ethernet, USB, GPIB and serial interfaces.
