Who We Are

Girl Effect is an international non-profit that builds media and technology that girls want, trust and need. From chatbots and social media to television dramas and community engagement, our work helps adolescent girls and young women access trusted information, build confidence and make informed choices about their health, education, relationships and futures.

Girl Effect creates safe and relevant spaces for girls, online and offline, and works with communities, service providers and public systems so that girls can act on the information they receive. Our programmes place girls' voices, safety, agency and lived realities at the centre of design and delivery.

Background

Girl Effect Kenya is implementing an integrated programme in Nakuru County to improve sexual and reproductive health (SRH) and maternal and child health (MCH) outcomes for adolescents and young people, with adolescent girls and young women (AGYW) aged 15 to 24 as the priority beneficiaries. The programme combines social and behaviour change communication, personalised digital decision support, community engagement, service navigation, referral, and follow-up support.
