Position Summary: Reporting to the Assistant Finance Manger, the Senior Accountant owns core general ledger accounting and accounts receivable activities while supporting an accurate, timely monthly and annual close. This hands-on position spans daily revenue and cash receipt processing—including basic mail sorting and routing—through technically complex journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, prepaid expense allocations and amortization, and fixed asset accounting. The Senior Accountant collaborates with Fund Development, Contracts, Programs and other Finance staff to maintain strong internal controls, ensure appropriate nonprofit revenue recognition, and produce audit-ready records. The position also provides backup support for payments and disbursements as needed.
