Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Milling Cell Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Milling machining cell, including Senior Class A, Class A, Class B, and Class C machinists. This role ensures the team meets production, quality, and safety standards while optimizing throughput and machine utilization. The Supervisor plays a critical role in scheduling, training, process compliance, and maintaining effective communication with both operators and leadership.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Team Leadership & Supervision:
- Directly supervise Milling cell team members, including Senior Class A, Class A, Class B, and Class C machinists.
- Assign daily work, monitor performance, and ensure adherence to work instructions and drawings.
- Conduct employee performance reviews, Weekly time approvals, and disciplinary actions in coordination with GSM Policies and Procedures.
- Provide mentorship and training to enhance skill development and cross-training across levels.
- Work to reduce and eliminate barriers and obstacles to improve overall cost and scheduling performance.
- Your leadership is expected to make it easier for employees to make quality products and make it easier for customers to do business with GSM.
