Security Business Analyst - Access Management (Remote in the US)

General Description
GuidePoint Security is hiring a Security Business Analyst – Access Management to join our delivery team on a full-time basis. This is a fully remote, entry-level role ideal for candidates with foundational analytical skills and an interest in Identity and Access Management technologies.
The Security Business Analyst supports the successful delivery of Access Management engagements by assisting with requirements documentation, engagement tracking, stakeholder coordination, and deliverable preparation. This role works closely with senior consultants, architects, and engagement leads — learning the business of IAM delivery while contributing to day-to-day execution across Ping Identity and Okta engagements.
This is a growth-oriented position. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-driven, and eager to develop both technical fluency in Access Management and professional skills in delivery coordination.
About the Access Management / CIAM Practice
Coming to the Access Management team means working on the leading edge in the IAM space. As a Security Business Analyst, you will support our technical delivery teams and learn the business of IAM consulting from the ground up. From capturing requirements in discovery sessions to helping keep complex engagements on track, you will gain exposure to real-world identity implementations at some of the largest companies in the US.

Roles and Responsibilities:
Requirements Analysis & Documentation (35%)
- Assist in documenting business and technical requirements for Access Management engagements involving Ping Identity and Okta platforms
- Participate in discovery sessions and workshops, capturing notes, action items, and decisions
- Draft functional specifications, user stories, and use case documentation under the guidance of senior team members
- Maintain requirements traceability matrices to track coverage from discovery through implementation
- Flag gaps, conflicts, and dependencies within requirements for review by engagement leads
- Create and update process flow diagrams and current/future state documentation for authentication and federation workflows
- Document integration requirements for SSO, MFA, and API security implementations based on input from technical staff
Delivery Coordination & Execution (30%)
- Maintain and update engagement plans including timelines, milestones, and task tracking under direction from engagement leads
- Track deliverables, action items, and decisions across assigned engagements
- Prepare materials for kickoff meetings, status calls, and steering committee updates
- Monitor basic engagement health indicators such as milestone completion and upcoming deadlines
- Log and escalate risks, issues, and blockers to appropriate team members
- Assist in coordinating across parallel workstreams by tracking dependencies and flagging conflicts
- Document scope change requests and route through proper approval workflows
- Produce status reports and engagement dashboards using established templates
- Support engagement closeout activities including documentation organization and knowledge transfer preparation
Stakeholder Communication & Coordination (20%)
- Support day-to-day client communications on assigned engagements under guidance from senior staff
- Schedule and coordinate meetings between GuidePoint delivery teams and client resources
- Prepare meeting agendas, capture minutes, and distribute action items
- Draft client-facing communications (status updates, follow-ups) for review before distribution
- Build working relationships with client technical teams through consistent, reliable follow-through
- Coordinate logistics for workshops, working sessions, and review meetings
Quality Assurance & Process Improvement (15%)
- Review deliverables for completeness and formatting alignment before submission to senior reviewers
- Maintain engagement documentation standards including templates, naming conventions, and repository organization
- Assist in updating delivery playbooks, templates, and standard operating procedures as directed
- Participate in lessons-learned sessions at engagement close and document findings
- Support presales activities by gathering information for LOE estimates and assisting with SOW preparation
Required Experience and Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field — or equivalent work experience
- 0–2 years of experience in business analysis, IT coordination, or professional services support (internships and co-ops count)
- Basic understanding of Identity and Access Management concepts such as:
- Single Sign-On (SSO) and federation (SAML, OAuth, OIDC) at a conceptual level
- Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) and its role in security
- General understanding of how identity platforms fit within enterprise security
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and follow-through
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and collaboration tools (e.g., Smartsheet, Jira, Confluence, or equivalent)
- Self-starter mentality with a willingness
Preferred Experience and Education:
- Internship or coursework in cybersecurity, identity management, or IT consulting
- Exposure to Ping Identity (PingFederate, PingOne) or Okta platforms (even in a lab or academic setting)
- Familiarity with Agile or Waterfall delivery methodologies
- Certifications or coursework such as:
- CompTIA Security+ or equivalent foundational security certification
- CAPM or Scrum fundamentals
- Okta Certified Professional (or in progress)
- Experience with diagramming tools (Visio, Lucidchart, draw.io)
- Prior experience in a client-facing or customer service role
Travel Requirements:
- Up to 10% travel
Physical Requirements:
- Sedentary work
- Substantial movement of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers for a minimum of 8 hours a day
- Required to have close visual acuity to view computer terminal and/or extensive reading for a minimum of 8 hours a day
