Job Description
Hagie Manufacturing is seeking a qualified candidate to be part of our Quality team in Clarion, IA. The Quality ROMER CMM (Coordinate Measurement Machine) Technician will work with Quality, Engineering, and Tooling to help meet the metrology needs of our company. The ROMER Operator will inspect machined components, weldments, purchased components, etc. for conformance to engineering drawings and specifications.
Essential Functions:
- Ability to live by the Hagie Family Values.
- Operate CMM ROMER arm to measure dimensions and collect data on simple and complex parts/assemblies.
- Perform weldment fixture inspection and alignment.
- Create measurement programs to evaluate part dimensions.
- Perform visual & dimensional inspections on in-process and finished parts & assemblies, conforming to engineering drawings to assure that requirements of the documentation have been met.
- Record inspection results, complete and maintain reports on findings, and maintain documentation repositories.
- Participate in tooling design reviews, functional geometry reviews, etc to provide feedback to drive improvements.
- Be able to interpret findings and provide technical guidance in order to identify and correct root cause to issues found.
- Support other activities as required by business needs and management direction.
Qualifications
Required Experience and Skills:
- Experience operating a ROMER arm CMM equipment.
- Experience with general lab equipment and part layouts. (Calipers, Micrometer, Height Gage, etc.)
- Relevant experience in quality control
- Thorough understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerance (GD&T).
- The ability to read, understand and interpret prints as well as supplier specifications and requirements.
- Proficient in computer applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Powerpoint.
- Ability to produce detailed reports which can be used for analysis and drive change.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- CAD/3D modeling experience (Creo Parametric) a plus.
Relevant education/work experience:
- 2 year technical degree in related field.
- In lieu of degree - Three or more years’ proven experience in manufacturing, engineering, or quality.
