Job Summary:

We're hiring our first Engineering Manager for Cloud (Production) Infrastructure to lead the team that owns this platform: its reliability, its roadmap, its cost, and the engineers who build it. You'll be a hands-on leader who plans and coordinates across product, device, and security teams, sets the operational bar, and grows a small, senior team as our fleet and customer base scale.. This position is based in San Francisco and follows a hybrid schedule with at least 3 days in-office per week.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead, coach, and grow a team of infrastructure engineers; own hiring, performance, and career development.

  • Be accountable for the reliability and day-to-day operation of the Hayden cloud platform. Set and monitor SLOs, maintain effective on-call coverage and observability, lead incident response and postmortems, and drive follow-up work to prevent recurring issues.

  • Build and deliver the cloud infrastructure roadmap in partnership with product, edge/device, data, and security leadership.

  • Drive infrastructure standards: Kubernetes, Terraform/IaC, GitOps (ArgoCD), CI/CD, device PKI and secure device-to-cloud communication.

  • Be responsible for planning cloud cost, capacity planning, and vendor relationships; keep infrastructure audit-ready for SOC 2 Type II and ISO 27001.

Travel Requirements [include only if required]:

  • Position requires travel for up to one week per year..

  • Travel may include [local/regional/national] trips for [client meetings, project work, training, conferences].

Required Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field

  • Experience: 2+ years managing infrastructure/platform/SRE engineers, plus 6+ years hands-on in cloud infrastructure. Experience running production systems with real uptime and on-call obligations.

  • Core Skills: Deep, hands-on experience building and operating cloud infrastructure with AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform, GitOps/ArgoCD, CI/CD, observability.
