We are looking for an experienced and motivated Asphalt Plant Supervisor to play a key leadership role in the safe, efficient and productive operation of our plant.

This is an excellent opportunity for a strong people leader with operational and engineering knowledge to take ownership of plant performance, drive continuous improvement, and lead a team committed to excellence in safety, quality and production.

Reporting directly to the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day process operations, leading operational teams, coordinating maintenance activities, and ensuring the highest standards of safety, environmental compliance and operational performance are achieved.

What You'll Be Doing

As an Asphalt Plant Supervisor, you will:

  • Lead and supervise all day process activities across the plant.

  • Coordinate the supply and movement of raw materials, fuels and finished products.

  • Work closely with Shift Managers to maximise plant efficiency and performance.

  • Oversee direct and indirect operational teams, ensuring resources are deployed effectively.

  • Drive a strong safety culture, ensuring compliance with all Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality standards.

  • Ensure preventative, corrective and autonomous maintenance plans are implemented effectively.

  • Monitor plant performance, identify bottlenecks and deliver improvements to increase efficiency and utilisation.

  • Coordinate maintenance activities with the Maintenance Department to minimise downtime.

  • Manage inventory levels and coordinate deliveries with suppliers and hauliers.

  • Produce performance reports and monitor operational KPIs.

  • Support cost reduction initiatives while maintaining safety and quality standards.

  • Organise holiday and absence cover to ensure operational continuity.

  • Ensure all safety, environmental and quality management systems are fully implemented and maintained.

  • Lead audits, inspections and workplace safety conversations.

  • Investigate and address non-conformances, observations and improvement opportunities.

  • Drive continuous improvement in health, safety and environmental performance.

  • Promote a culture where everyone takes ownership of safe working practices.

What We're Looking For

We're seeking a confident and proactive leader who can motivate teams, solve problems and deliver operational excellence.

You'll ideally have:

  • Strong process and engineering knowledge within manufacturing, industrial processing, construction materials or a similar environment.

  • Previous supervisory or management experience in a production or processing operation.

  • Excellent planning, organisational and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage and influence people at all levels.

  • Experience leading, developing and motivating teams.

  • The ability to prioritise workload, manage risk and make informed decisions.

  • A continuous improvement mindset with a focus on efficiency and performance.

  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office and operational systems.
