Hitachi Energy delivers grid technology that supplies electricity to over three billion people globally. We are now looking for a Network Engineer to join our HVDC team in Ludvika.
In this role, you will work with the design, configuration, and troubleshooting of network solutions in our HVDC installations and test environments. You will play an essential part in delivering secure and stable communication solutions for control and monitoring systems within critical infrastructure.
You will collaborate closely with engineering teams, site personnel, and project organizations to ensure that network solutions function both in laboratory environments and in real operation.
How You Will Make an Impact
- Configuration and maintenance of network equipment (primarily Cisco and Fortinet)
- Design and implementation of network solutions for industrial systems
- Troubleshooting network issues in lab, workshop, and site environments
- Participation in testing, verification, and commissioning activities
- Documentation of network design and configurations
- Collaboration with automation, cybersecurity, and system engineering teams
Your Background
- Experience in network engineering, preferably within industrial or critical systems
- Hands‑on experience with Cisco and/or Fortinet environments
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP, VLAN, routing, and firewalls
- Ability to work in a structured and technical environment
- Good communication skills in Swedish or English
- Since the role involves close collaboration with global project teams, personal qualities will play an important part in the selection process
