Job Description

The House of Commons’ Human Resources Services is currently looking to staff the Pay and Benefits Advisor position.

As part of the team, you will be accountable for providing expert pay and benefits services, advice and guidance, administering and applying the regulations, policies and procedures regarding pay and benefits for Members of Parliament, Members’ staff, House and Research Officers as well as internal and external partners.

In this role, you will need to have a comprehensive knowledge of pay and benefits services. To be successful, you will need to remain calm under pressure and have a client-centric approach to your work. You will also need to be a problem solver with an analytical mind and be willing to help your colleagues, when required.

Qualifications

Education :

  • Post-secondary diploma in a related field (i.e. Human Resources, Finance, Administration) or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience in pay administration.

Experiences : 

  • Experience with and knowledge of pay, pension and benefits administration;
  • Experience in the interpretation and application of regulations, collective agreement provisions on terms and conditions of employment, policies and procedures in human resources or related field;
  • Experience working with the Phoenix Pay System; 
  • Experience using HR systems and the Microsoft Office Suite.

Assets :

  • Completion of a relevant training and/or certification with the Canadian Payroll Association.
