Job Description
The House of Commons Parliamentary Precinct Operations is currently looking to staff the Supervisor, Transportation and Fleet Management Services position.
This recruitment and selection process is restricted to the employees working within the Transportation and Fleet Management Division.
The Supervisor, Transportation and Fleet Management Services is primarily responsible for ensuring the effective planning and implementation of a shuttle bus service and a delivery service by truck and cargo van and the maintenance of a fleet of vehicles. Most of the Supervisor’s responsibility relates to managing and maintaining an effective shuttle bus service for Members Parliament and employees of the House of Commons, on and adjacent to the Parliamentary Precinct. The responsibility of the supervisor also relates to managing freight delivery services by truck and cargo van on the Hill and in the National Capital Region. In addition to this, the supervisor oversees the operational administration of the unit and participates in long-term operational planning.

Qualifications
Education:
- A secondary school diploma OR an acceptable combination of education, training and relevant experiences;
- A valid driver's licence: Ontario Class D and F with a Z endorsement, or Québec Class 3 with F and M endorsements.
Experiences:
- Experience in the day-to-day planning, scheduling and coordination of transportation services;
- Experience in leading the planning of operational support activities, and the development and operational work plans;
- Experience in developing and implementing quality assurance procedures and process for the effective delivery of services;
- Experience in providing advice and guidance related to shuttle bus, delivery by truck services and other related project requirements;
- Knowledge of the methods, practices, standards, regulations that pertain to occupational health and safety and WHMIS, including investigations into incidents and accidents involving employees and related injuries, as well as work-related hazards.
Asset:
- Experience in the management of human, financial and materiel resources.
