You’ll join our HR team and be responsible for a variety of aspects of human resources assistance including performance management workflow, safety, training, HR analytics, and HR special projects. You might be perfect for this role if you love working with people, organization (extra points if you’re a fan of paperless processes!), technology, and constantly learning and adapting to industry change to assist in HR projects and tasks.

What You’ll Take Ownership Of:
- You live for working with and helping people: Building positive, professional relationships with employees, leaders, and the HR team and assisting with performance management technology workflow & employee engagement
- You naturally spot the safest method: Assisting with safety program administration, including planning safety meetings and training topics, Toolbox Talks, maintaining and updating emergency preparedness plans, safety wins project, DOT and other safety-related documents and programs
- You have the heart of a teacher: Backup assistance with our learning & development administration and training creation for safety & HR programs
- You have the eye of a people-first marketer: Collaborating with the HR recruitment team to help with recruitment and onboarding processes as needed, including assisting with recruitment marketing, applicant tracking system maintenance, communicating and assisting hiring managers, reference checks, participating in job fairs, new hire paperwork/onboarding system, and welcoming new employees
- You know the small details matter: Creating, modifying, and maintaining effective electronic (and limited paper) documents and communication; including filing and retrieval of documents in a timely manner
- You are a numbers nerd when necessary: Compiling, editing, and distributing requested complex reports, documents, forms, and other HR paperwork as needed
- You are a technology wizard and thrive on worker smarter: Assisting employees with HR Information System questions and technical assistance, personal data changes, benefit questions, system changes, as well as time & attendance
- You have your team member’s backs: Providing back up to other HR team roles, including assisting with payroll, benefits, engagement & retention, maintaining employee notices and posters at multiple locations, employee communication and events, among other HR tasks
- You live for making the best better for the future: Assisting other HR team members with developing human resources team projects & solutions by collecting and analyzing information
- You are a lock and key when it comes to information: Protecting organization's value by keeping information confidential as well as ensuring that Acme Tools is in compliance with all federal and state laws

Need-To-Haves:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Communications or related field, and/or, at least 2+ years of progressively responsible direct human resources experience
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- General understanding of laws, regulations, and agency interpretations or opinions related employee best practices
- Ability to be flexible and adapt to changing priorities, duties, and deadlines; things can change in an instant and you need to be able to work on multiple projects simultaneously as well as solve new problems frequently; ability to work autonomously and as a team
- Communication skills are key; both verbal and written. We are in the business of people and work with people at every stage of life with every communication style you can imagine. The ability to communicate empathetically, accurately, and professionally during both good and hard conversations is required frequently throughout each day
- Strong technology skills with experience working with Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe products; ability to autonomously learn and adapt to new technology and processes to be able to guide others through technology updates and changes
- Exceptional business acumen; analytical, reporting, and organizational skills
- Self-driven to achieve goals; high energy level is essential, as well as a strong, dedicated work ethic
- Flexibility and willingness to assist other HR team members as needed
- Consistent in-office attendance is an essential function of this role
Love-To-Haves:
- Experience working with Human Resources Information System (HRIS), ADP preferred
- Experience working with safety programs
- Experience working with Litmos LMS system
- Bonus points for tool and equipment or retail industry knowledge
Physical Requirement:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Must be able to lift 15 lbs. periodically
